Weekend Care Professionals wanted in Hove and Brighton – £17 an hour for guaranteed weekend availability.

GoodOaks Homecare Sussex South was rated GOOD by the CQC in April 2026, something we are very proud of.

Guaranteed pay, not guaranteed shifts

Most care work asks you to be available and then pays you only for what turns up. We do it the other way round.

Tell us the hours you can be available at weekends. We guarantee to pay you 40% of them – whether the work comes in or not.

Offer us 10 hours on a Saturday and 4 of those are paid, guaranteed. Get booked for more and you are paid for more. No chasing shifts. No empty weeks.

Why weekends work

If you are studying, working midweek, or building your week around family, weekend care work fits neatly alongside it – and it is the shift we value most, which is why it carries our best rate.

What you will earn

Guaranteed weekend availability – £17.00 per hour
Weekends – £16.00 per hour
Weekdays – £14.00 per hour, if you would like to pick up midweek work too
Time and a half on bank holidays
Mileage paid between client visits

We cover Shoreham-by-Sea, Southwick, Worthing and Brighton, and we have midweek roles available as well.

The hours

Between 10 and 30 hours a week. We offer zero-hours contracts with a Flexiday option that guarantees your pay based on the availability you give us, and guaranteed-hours contracts are available subject to availability.

What you will actually be doing

You will support clients to stay in the homes they love – safe, happy and as independent as they can be. That means personal care, medication, meals, mobility support, companionship and light household tasks, alongside keeping an eye on how someone is doing and writing up your care notes.

Who we are looking for

People like being around you. You are kind, compassionate, reliable and person-centred, with a natural warmth and an honest streak. You communicate well, you are organised, and you turn up when you say you will. Previous care experience is welcome but genuinely not essential – we train you properly.

What you get from us

Guaranteed-hours contracts available, subject to availability
Flexible working patterns to suit your lifestyle
Competitive rates of pay
Mileage paid between client visits
Full training provided, and paid
Paid DBS check
Paid holiday and pension contributions
Ongoing professional development, career progression and supported qualifications
Regular clients, so you build real relationships
Support from a friendly, local management team
Employee discounts including Blue Light Card

A bit about us

Our mission is to help people keep their independence and wellbeing at home. We offer live-in and visiting care, and we specialise in dementia care, physical and mental disability care, and after-stroke care. Our care professionals complete a bespoke training course, are Dignity in Care registered, and our service is regulated by the CQC.

Before you apply, please note

We are not able to offer sponsorship of any kind, so you will need an existing right to work in the UK
A UK driving licence and your own vehicle are required, with business class 1 insurance
You will need a clear DBS check, which we pay for, and at least two references
For this role we are recruiting female Care Professionals only. This is a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010, because the clients being supported have requested a female care professional for intimate personal care.

What happens next

Apply and our recruitment team will be in touch within 24 hours. We arrange interviews quickly and you can start as soon as you are ready.

Come and do a job you can be proud of.
