Job Description

About Bose

At Bose Corporation, we believe sound is the most powerful force on earth — and for over 60 years, we have been a company built on innovation, excellence, and independence. Privately owned, fiercely customer-focused, and driven by our values, we continue to lead industries and transform lives through sound.

Today, Bose Corporation is entering an exciting new era. Across multiple global Business Units and Global Functions, we are shaping the future of audio technology, automotive, luxury, and premium experiences. We invite you to join us in this transformation.

About the role

Our Creative Department is a part of the global marketing team. We’re a group of creative pioneers on a mission to unleash the potential of the brand. And we’re looking for a passionate Visual Designer to join us.

As a Visual Designer at Bose you’ll lean on well-honed design instincts to craft meaningful, valuable experiences on Bose owned and third party platforms, clearly communicate your design vision and rationale, and keep the customer at the center of your thinking. You know what it’s like to work for organizations going through digital transformation and know how to design for large brands and platforms, CMS’s, and design systems.

You’ll work hand in hand with UX, and as part of a close-knit team of Creative Leads, Designers, Copywriters, Producers, Marketing Partners, and others inside and outside of Bose to ideate and deliver creative that gets results – from product pages, editorial content, emails, social media, in app messaging, landing pages and more.

What describes you:

You love design.
You understand the power of design. You know it is more than moving pixels, it’s about moving people. Emotionally and behaviorally. We're looking for a thoughtful designer whose love of the craft goes beyond self-expression.

You are left-brained and right-brained.
You know what it is to work within a Brand design language and have the confidence to push the boundaries with a well-developed understanding of design fundamentals such as typography, interaction design and usability, layout, white space, aspect ratios, typography, and color theory. Tying all of these elements together with enormous attention to detail.

You have comprehensive experience with everything from responsive web design for large-scale platforms to mobile apps. You understand the advantages and constraints of modern CMS’s. And know all about design systems, atomic design principles, breakpoints, grids, templates, components - and you know how to bend them to your will.

You’ve got ideas.
Lots of them. You are always looking to find inspiration, insights, cultural or human truths, to shape those ideas. And you’re able to consider your ideas strategically and tactically translating creative concepts into effective designs and brand values into compelling visual designs.

People fascinate you.
You love people in all their diversity. You’re easy to work with, as you have strong social and communication skills that ensure you understand, relate to and connect with our customers- and your team.

You’re ever curious.
You have a contagious curiosity for all-things digital, from apps and platforms to emerging tech. You challenge yourself both personally and professionally. You ask great questions, listen deeply, and go wherever the answers might lead you.

You want to grow.
You are always learning and progressing. You welcome informed debate and will passionately defend your decisions. You’re skeptical of “the way we do things.” You’re eager to learn things you don’t already know. And you’re open to failing. When you get it wrong, you learn from it and come out stronger.

You’re you. You’re confident that there’s something unique only you could bring to our team. (Tell us what it is in your cover letter!)

What you bring:

5-8 years' experience; your work is more important to us than your years.

Impressive design chops, from responsive web design for large-scale platforms to mobile apps
Experience with designing for CMS’s
Experience establishing, maintaining, and improving Design Systems
Up to date with latest UX/UI trends, techniques and technologies for desktop and mobile applications.
Proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools (Adobe CC and Figma)
Excellent presentation skills and the ability to clearly convey concepts.
Proven ability to generate supportive visual assets for larger brand systems beyond logos, logotypes, or basic components.
Experience with prototyping to explore and convey design solutions.
Bonus points if you have strong motion design capabilities.

If this sounds good, we’d love to hear from you!
Please include a link to an online portfolio or a pdf with work samples along with your application. We hope to see work that’ll show us how you think, what you’re passionate about, and why we can’t wait to meet you.

At Bose, you're inspired to be and do your best and are rewarded for your unique talents! Our compensation is thoughtfully tailored to your skills, experience, education, and location, and goes beyond base salary. The hiring range for this position in the primary work location of New York, New York is: $83,800-$115,150.The hiring range for other Bose work locations may vary.

As the world leader in audio experiences, we’re creating what’s next—pushing boundaries and delivering transformative sound experiences for people everywhere. Join us and make your next career move a mic-drop. Let’s Make Waves.
