Video Editor

Build a safer world with us, one incident at a time.

Ambient.ai is the category creator and leader in Agentic Physical Security. Powered by Ambient Pulsar, the first reasoning Vision-Language Model purpose-built for physical security, our platform seamlessly integrates with existing security cameras and physical access control systems to unify monitoring, access control, threat assessment, response, and investigations through an always-on reasoning layer that augments security operators with superhuman capabilities. The results: 95% fewer false alarms, investigations 20x faster, and 10x faster response.

The momentum speaks for itself: we doubled new ARR in FY26, and have delivered results for world-class customers including Cisco, ServiceNow, SentinelOne, TikTok, Bayer, and MoMA. That kind of momentum creates an environment where great people thrive, and it shows: we recently ranked #71 out of 500 on the Forbes best startup employers list.

Founded in 2017 and backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Y Combinator, and Allegion Ventures, Ambient.ai is on a fast-paced journey to fulfill our mission: prevent every security incident possible.

About the Role:

Ambient is hiring its first dedicated video editor to join a two-person creative team, working directly with our Sr. Creative Manager. This person will support the end-to-end process, playing a huge part in editing, motion design, and final delivery across social, web, product marketing, events, and sales enablement. A significant part of this role is fast, social-native video that drives engagement and builds brand affinity - primarily short-form vertical content for LinkedIn and YouTube Shorts - alongside long-form storytelling for campaigns and product launches, including our monthly product release notes video. Because we work inside secure facilities like warehouses, hospitals, school districts, and corporate campuses, privacy shapes both our product and our brand guidelines, so you'll find creative ways to tell visual stories without identifiable faces in B-roll. This is a chance to help define the visual language of an entirely new category being rebuilt around AI.

What You'll Do:

• Edit short-form vertical video optimized for LinkedIn and YouTube Shorts, with strong hooks, pacing, captions, and storytelling structures built for retention

• Repurpose long-form footage into multiple short-form assets to extend the reach of every shoot

• Build and extend our motion graphics system, including titles, lower thirds, UI callouts, animated diagrams, and transitions

• Capture and animate product UI to explain how the platform works

• Produce brand videos, product explainers, customer stories, and launch content, including our monthly product release notes video

• Partner with product marketing, demand generation, and sales enablement to take briefs from concept through final delivery

• Maintain visual consistency with brand guidelines across every asset, and contribute ideas that connect storytelling to brand positioning and pipeline goals

• Help launch Ambient's podcast from the ground up - format, recording workflow, and editing - as a new storytelling channel alongside our video content

What You'll Bring:

• 3-5 years of professional video editing experience, ideally in-house or at an agency

• A strong portfolio showcasing both editing craft and short-form, social-native content

• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, with working comfort in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma

• A strong foundation in pacing, visual storytelling, sound design, and post-production fundamentals

• Comfort with typography and layout in motion, working inside an established brand system

• Strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Enough camera, lighting, and audio literacy to set up and record a clean talking-head shot

Bonus:

• Comfort presenting on camera - not required, but if you enjoy it, the monthly release notes video and feature-length YouTube shorts are yours to host

• Experience producing, recording, or editing a podcast, especially standing one up from scratch

• Comfort with AI and emerging creative tools, using them to work faster without compromising quality, authenticity, or editorial judgment

• Experience in B2B, enterprise software, or another technical category

• Experience animating software UI or explaining technical systems visually

• Experience with a digital asset management system or collaborative cloud post-production workflows such as Frame.io

• Experience collaborating with or coaching executives on video content
