About Ephemeris Net
We are extending the internet to space.
Ephemeris Net is a pre-seed space networking company on a mission to provide space connectivity for all through collaborative engineering of commercial space networking solutions. We are creating the infrastructure that will enable the space internet beyond bent pipe---starting with foundational networking infrastructure that will define how data moves through space.
We are supported by our parent studio SOE, institutional VCs, and our network of space advisors. We believe that now is the chance to build foundational infrastructure for how the internet will work in space within the next 5 years.
The role
Join our electrical engineering team to design and develop the electronics that make our vision of space networking a reality - from the high-speed digital systems inside our Ephemeris Network Box to the opto-electronics that run optical inter-satellite links terminals.
You'll contribute to three critical hardware domains: (1) the high-speed digital networking electronics capable of routing data at up to 9.6 Tbps between multiple optical terminals and managing a ~200 TB space-based data cache, (2) the optical terminal electronics including motor control systems, fine steering control electronics, photodiode transimpedance amplifiers, and laser drivers that enable free-space optical communication, and (3) semi-custom optical transceivers that bridge our networking and optical systems.
As part of our electrical engineering team, you'll help establish how we approach electronics design for space networking systems and contribute to building Ephemeris Net's hardware engineering capabilities. Your designs will define the hardware foundation for all Ephemeris Net products.
This role will report to the CTO and co-founder, Nicolas Brown.
