Sr Sales Development Representative

Senior Sales Development Representative (SDR)

Black Duck Location – Tokyo, Japan

About the Role

Ready to kickstart conversations that turn into real business impact?

We’re looking for a Senior Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our growing team at Black Duck in Japan. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role where you’ll be the spark that ignites new opportunities — connecting with future customers, building relationships, and helping shape our pipeline.

You’ll work closely with Marketing and Sales, turning curiosity into conversations — and conversations into meaningful opportunities.

If you’re energized by growth, love engaging with people, and want to be part of something scalable and exciting — this could be your next move.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Drive new business conversations by connecting with prospective customers across multiple channels
• Qualify inbound leads and turn marketing interest into real opportunities
• Lead proactive outreach (calls, email, LinkedIn) to open doors and build relationships
• Dive deep into target accounts to understand what matters most to them
• Spot opportunities early and help convert them into strong sales pipeline
• Partner closely with Account Executives to set them up for success
• Keep momentum high by tracking activity and insights in Salesforce

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of professional experience (sales experience is a plus — but drive matters more)
• A natural communicator who enjoys connecting with people
• A self-starter mindset — you don’t wait, you make things happen
• Strong organization and prioritization skills in a fast-moving environment
• Curiosity, resilience, and a genuine desire to improve every day
• Ability to think on your feet and create engaging, meaningful conversations
• Comfortable using business tools like Microsoft Office and CRM systems

What You Can Expect

• A high-energy, supportive SDR team that celebrates wins together
• Best-in-class onboarding and enablement to set you up for success from day one
• Access to top tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Gong, Salesforce, and more
• The opportunity to represent a category-leading software security platform
• A culture built on collaboration, communication, and shared ambition
• Flexibility and a strong focus on your personal and professional growth

Why Black Duck
