Solutions Engineer (Core AI)

First, what is low-code? Low-code is a visual approach to software development that enables you to abstract and automate every step of the application lifecycle. Gartner predicts that “by 2024, low-code application development will be responsible for more than 65% of application development activity.” Mendix is repeatedly ranked a Leader in analyst reports from Gartner and Forrester. In the 2021 Gartner® Magic Quadrant for Multiexperience Development Platforms, Mendix placed at the very top of the Leaders quadrant.

The Mendix platform was created to promote collaboration between Business & IT teams. Thousands of forward-thinking companies around the world like Ford Auto, Zurich Insurance, Rabobank Netherlands and Red Bull, can unleash their best ideas faster with the help of the Mendix platform.

Siemens is a Top 10 Global Software Company and a leader on Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies in the World! With the acquisition of Mendix in 2018, Siemens Digital Industries Software is driving transformation to enhance the digital enterprise where engineering, manufacturing and electronics meet the future of innovation. Mendix employees have the opportunity to work in a hyper-growth environment with the support of Siemens’ unbeatable market position and resources.

About the Role
Mendix, a Siemens business, powers hybrid agentic workforces by enabling organizations to build, scale and orchestrate agents and applications faster by combining low-code, AI, data, and integrations into a unified platform.

The Technical Solutions Marketing team builds technical credibility for Mendix through validated architectures, reusable proof points, and real-world implementations. In this role, you will work directly with customers and the field to prove high-value use cases through lighthouse implementations, then package what works into reusable patterns, components, and technical narratives that scale across GTM and delivery ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement customer-facing prototypes and lighthouse implementations to validate high-value AI and integration use cases.

• Lead strategic workshops and technical deep dives with customers and field teams, especially for agentic AI workflows and complex integrations.

• Turn validated customer work into reusable assets: reference architectures, blueprints, accelerators, and repeatable patterns.

• Serve as the deep technical owner for agentic system design, including tool use, orchestration, and multi-agent patterns.

• Design and maintain complex integration architectures across enterprise platforms and data systems.

• Ground GTM positioning and storytelling in validated technical proof points, supporting high-impact moments like executive demos and analyst briefings.

Requirements

• Demonstrable, hands-on experience designing and building agentic AI systems in production-realistic environments (tool use/function calling, orchestration/planning, multi-agent patterns where appropriate).

• Strong practical knowledge of LLM application architecture, including retrieval (RAG), grounding, prompt/system design, and structured outputs.

• Experience implementing evaluation and reliability loops (test harnesses, offline/online evals, monitoring, feedback, iteration) and guardrails (safety, policy, data controls).

• Proven ability to integrate agentic workflows with enterprise systems and data (APIs, events, identity, governance) and to design complex integration architectures.

• Strong background in system architecture and end-to-end solution delivery (security, scalability, reliability, observability, deployment readiness).

• Experience with enterprise platforms and ecosystems (Siemens stack a plus), data platforms, and modern AI tooling.

• Ability to translate complex technical capabilities into reusable patterns, reference architectures, and clear technical narratives for GTM and customer contexts.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills across Product, GTM, engineering, and customer stakeholders.

• Mendix experience is a plus.

What Success Looks Like

• Lighthouse customer implementations that prove value, de-risk adoption, and generate validated technical proof points.

• Packaged assets (patterns, blueprints, components, playbooks) reused across GTM and adopted by Services/partners for repeatable delivery.

• Reliable, scalable demo and workshop environments that consistently showcase complex AI/data/integration scenarios.

• A strong feedback loop into Product and PMM informed by real customer builds.

Why this role

This role sits at the intersection of deep technical work and real business impact, and plays a central part in how Mendix's AI and integration capabilities are proven, packaged, and scaled.

You will design and validate the architectures that become the foundation for how customers adopt the platform, how Services delivers at scale, and how GTM tells a credible technical story.

Mendix has been recognized as a Best Cloud Computing Company to Work For by Forbes. With offices in 16+ countries including headquarters in Rotterdam and Boston, Mendix provides an international playground to truly impact the world through low-code.

While each employee brings their own unique cultures and personalities to the workplace, we collectively live by our Mendix Blue Guiding Principles:

·      We put the customer first - Without our customers, we have no business. So, if you act in the best interest of our customers, always…you belong here.

·      We think big- We work to have a meaningful, lasting impact on the world. So, if you aim high and think long term…you belong here.

·      We innovate- We want to be what happens next. So, if you ask “what if?” and work to find a way or make one…you belong here.

·      We nurture talent- We look, not just at the sum of what an individual has done, but at the potential of who they can be. So, if you’re up for learning from your failures…you belong here.

·      We hear every voice- Inflated egos don’t last here, humility does. So, if you share credit and ensure that the best ideas win – regardless of who they come from…you belong here.

·      We own it - If something needs doing, we do it. So, if you focus on the outcome, and take initiative to get it done…you belong here.

·      We have fun- We use laughter as a common language. We can ask for help and we’re happy to give it. So, if you find joy and purpose in what you do…you belong here.
