Software Engineer (SF)

About Strada

Strada is building the operating layer for AI-driven insurance.

Our platform deploys expert AI agents across calls, texts, emails, and chat - running core front-office workflows from policy servicing to claims intake. With a singular focus on insurance, Strada offers domain expertise and product depth that generic AI platforms can't match.

Backed by Y Combinator and top-tier investors, Strada already automates more than 1M customer interactions for leading insurers, MGAs, and brokers representing $20B+ in annual premiums. Adoption is accelerating across the industry.

Insurance is one of the largest and most complex industries in the world, and modern AI has the potential to fundamentally reshape how it operates. Strada is replacing fragmented workflows with AI-native infrastructure that runs real operations at scale - at the intersection of AI, infrastructure, and highly regulated real-world systems.

We're a small, high-ownership team based in San Francisco, already embedded in production systems at sophisticated insurance organizations. If you want to move fast, solve hard problems, and shape the future of a massive industry, let's meet.

Why Insurance?

Insurance quietly powers the global economy - it helps businesses stay open, families recover from disasters, and entire industries manage risk. But the way insurance operates hasn't changed in decades. Many frontline workflows still rely on phone calls and legacy systems.

We're building AI that plugs into those workflows and makes them radically faster, smarter, and more efficient. It's a $300B+ market ripe for innovation.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join us in-person at our SF office. You'll work at the forefront of voice AI technology - developing, evaluating, and deploying state-of-the-art LLM and voice systems that push the limits of conversational AI.

As a senior full-stack engineer, you'll have large ownership and work closely with customers to build products they'll love. This is a high-impact role for someone who wants to shape both the product and the engineering culture as we scale.

What you'll get done in the first week

• Ship your first PR to production - no lengthy onboarding, you're contributing immediately

• Get hands-on with our voice AI stack and understand the architecture behind thousands of automated insurance calls

• Meet the team, shadow customer calls, and start identifying areas where your experience can have an immediate impact

What you'll do in your first 30 days

• Own a meaningful feature or system improvement end-to-end - from design to deployment

• Start shaping technical decisions on architecture, tooling, or infrastructure

• Build relationships with FDEs and customers to understand where the product needs to go next

What you'll do in your first 90 days

• Take ownership of a core product area (voice, chat, workflows, or integrations) and drive its roadmap

• Lead technical initiatives that ship directly to customers - not internal tools that sit on a shelf

• Help establish engineering best practices and mentor newer engineers as the team scales

• Have a real seat at the table on product and technical strategy as an early engineer at a high-growth company

What You'll Need

• 4+ years (Engineer) / 6+ years (Sr. Engineer) / 8+ years (Staff Engineer) of experience building production software, preferably some at startups

• Deep experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js

• Strong attention to detail and an eye for design

• Experience with AWS or other cloud infrastructure

• Experience with PostgreSQL

• Track record of owning technically challenging, cross-functional projects

• Customer-first mindset - you're interested in talking to users, not just writing code

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team

• Self-motivated and able to work independently

Nice to Have

• Experience deploying reliable LLM-based products in production

• Experience with Vite + TanStack technologies (Router/Query/Table)

• Experience with Temporal

• Experience working with data-intensive or real-time applications

What We Offer

• Competitive salary ($160K - $230K) & meaningful equity

• Employee-friendly equity terms

• MacBook Pro, 4K display, and all the accessories

• Health, dental & vision insurance

• Regular team events & off-sites

• Daily team dinners provided (Mon–Fri)

• Gym membership

**IMPORTANT NOTE: This position is on-site at our San Francisco
