Software Engineer - Optimization

At Endra, our vision is to produce software of exceptional quality. Attaining this standard requires both talent and ownership. We seek individuals who care deeply about the quality of the software we deliver, whether their focus is engineering, design, support, or sales.

Join our small and talented team as one of our early engineers. You’ll own key systems at the intersection of geometry, optimization, and MEP; shaping architecture and engineering practices as we scale. We’re looking for people who care deeply about their craft, take ownership of complex problems, push us to think bigger, and are driven to create something with lasting impact.

What we’re looking for

• +5 years of experience in modern C++, specializing in the development of complex systems with a strong emphasis on computational geometry, fluid dynamics, or spatial algorithms.

• Expertise in graph algorithms, combinatorial optimization, and computational geometry in both 2D and 3D. Demonstrates advanced practical proficiency in C++ and possesses strong analytical skills.

• Familiarity with Python and the ability to collaborate effectively with a Svelte-based frontend team.

• Demonstrates a mindset characterized by ownership, efficiency, and clear communication.

• Strives to maintain a balance between technical excellence and pragmatism, selecting solutions that effectively address current problems without introducing unnecessary complexity.

• Fluent in English.

What you'll do

• Design and implement optimization algorithms to solve complex spatial problems.

• Translation and modelling of real world MEP problems into code.

• Build logic for 3D placement including collision detection, routing and more.

• Work with performance-critical and computationally complex systems.

Our current tech stack

• Core Logic (C++23): A high-performance, modern C++23 codebase developed from scratch. It underpins our system with geometric primitives, advanced optimization algorithms, and the core business logic essential for our MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) decision-making and validation frameworks.

• Backend Services (Python/GCP): A lightweight asynchronous Python API deployed on GCP. It manages database interactions (Postgres), generates required reports, and interfaces with our high-speed C++ Core library.

• Frontend Interface (Svelte/TypeScript/WebAssembly): A compact, high-performance CAD application delivered directly in the user's browser. It is built using Svelte, extensive custom TypeScript, and WebAssembly components, ensuring a minimal, clean, and highly responsive user experience.

How we operate

• Less is more: We simplify and ship smaller, fast.

• Build the right things: We listen carefully and build what users actually need.

• Velocity & Quality: We build things that last, but we don’t perfect them forever.

• Trust & Collaboration: Strong opinions, loosely held.

What We Offer

• Competitive salary and equity.

• Employee-friendly equity terms.

• Private health insurance.

• Regular team events and off-sites.

• Six weeks of paid vacation.

• An inspiring, ambitious, and global work environment.
