In this role, you will own meaningful areas of the runtime outright. This is not website development. We embed Unity inside the browser, and the problems are the deep ones: making a single-threaded platform multi-threaded, cutting megabytes out of a build, getting a game playable in seconds rather than minutes
You will work alongside engineers who helped invent the browser technology we build on, and you will help the people around you grow
Own meaningful areas of the Unity Web runtime, from design through to release
Research, design and implement optimizations to the Web build target, such as stripping unused code from builds and progressively loading assets as a game needs them
Improve download size, load and startup performance for Web builds, and set measurable targets for it
Solve uncommon, low-level problems across C++, C# and JavaScript, for example bringing multi-threading to parts of the runtime that are single-threaded today
Partner with teams across Unity who build on the Web platform, translating what they need into platform work
Mentor teammates and help set the bar for code quality across the team
Keep Unity at the frontier of the Web’s constantly evolving capabilities
