Senior Professional Services Engineer - Implementation and Onboarding

🧠 About Cortex
Cortex is the Engineering Operations Platform that enables organizations to continuously improve their operational maturity and reduce developer friction. With centralized visibility, clear ownership, automated Scorecards, and golden paths, we help engineering organizations operate as one.

Our customers – from startups to Fortune 100 enterprises  – create a culture of engineering excellence, reducing incidents by 30% and improving MTTR by 50%, all while making it easier for developers to focus on building.

📍Location
We’re fully remote and typically welcome candidates from anywhere in the US. We get together a few times a year for company offsites where we build stronger relationships, kick off important work, and genuinely enjoy spending time together.

🤝 The Team
Our team is ~80 people building something developers actually want to use. We recently raised a $60M Series C led by Scale Ventures (alongside Sequoia and IVP). We're focused on making engineering teams more effective. You can read more about our latest funding round here.

💼 The Role
As a Senior Professional Services Engineer, you will act as a hands-on technical consultant, owning customer engagements end to end, from kickoff through delivery and handover. Your focus is helping customers successfully design, implement, and scale their Cortex setup through a consultative, hands-on-driven approach.

You’ll work closely with customers to understand their engineering ecosystem, data models, and how their organization structures its Engineering Operations System. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to customers, solving real technical problems, and translating complex systems into practical solutions.

You’ll collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, from engineers and platform teams to Product Managers, Engineering Leadership, and CTOs.

• Serve as the main technical point of contact during implementation to troubleshoot issues, investigate bugs, and raise product feedback
• Act as a trusted, consultative advisor, helping customers make informed design and implementation decisions

Technical Implementation

• Design, configure, and troubleshoot Cortex features and integrations across the engineering toolchain
• Advise on and implement data modeling strategies within Cortex (entities, relationships, ownership); create and communicate architecture diagrams for Cortex setups and ingestion pipelines
• Guide customers on data ingestion automation, ownership, reporting and orchestration approaches (e.g. GitHub Actions, Argo)

Content & Enablement

• Create customer-facing learning guides, walkthroughs, and best-practice documentation
• Plan and facilitate enablement workshops for different audiences (engineering, platform, product, leadership)
• Contribute internal content on advanced technical use cases and implementation patterns

• Experience in customer-facing technical roles, such as Professional Services, Technical Consulting, Solutions Architecture, Platform Engineering (with customer exposure), or similar
