Senior Financial Analyst

Scopely is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to join the team behind MONOPOLY GO! This role will be located in Culver City, CA on a hybrid basis.

In this role, you will own the game’s recurring operational finance activities while building the tools and automation that make our work faster, more accurate, and more scalable. MONOPOLY GO! is a global phenomenon and the biggest mobile game launch in history, captivating millions of players worldwide.

You will lead operating expense month-end close, accruals, headcount tracking, purchase orders, Workday approvals, and T&E visibility. This is a build-oriented role with a clear mandate to improve how the work gets done—not simply execute existing processes. We are looking for someone who can identify opportunities to apply AI and automation thoughtfully and effectively.

Over time, this role will help advance an AI-native approach to FP&A, connecting close, planning, reporting, and approvals so routine work can run more efficiently and the team can focus on higher-value judgment. This is a greenfield opportunity with significant autonomy and a dedicated budget for tools and experimentation.

You will also serve as the primary Finance business partner to our Engineering organization, acting as its main point of contact for spending, headcount, and planning. You will work closely with Finance Managers, the VP of Finance for MONOPOLY GO!, and cross-functional partners across the business, with strong senior-level support as you ramp into the role.

Why this role stands out

• A build mandate. You own the FP&A automation stack — greenfield, with autonomy and a tool budget. A real part of the job is making the work better, not only keeping it running.
• Scale and visibility. MONOPOLY GO! is a large, fast-growing business. Your work informs game leadership directly, with regular exposure to the VP of Finance.
• Room to grow. A path into complex modeling, financial storytelling, and broader scope across Scopely's portfolio, with mentorship to get there.
• A strong team. You'll join a high-caliber group with backgrounds across high-growth tech, consulting, banking, and private equity.

What you'll do

The split is honest: expect the operational cadence to be a meaningful part of your week, and the build work to grow as you automate more of it.

• Run the OpEx close cadence. Month-end close, accruals, reclasses, and headcount reconciliation, plus high-volume PO/Workday approvals and T&E — accurately, on time, and independently before long.
• Build the automation. Replace manual reporting with automated workflows and dashboards, and apply AI where it genuinely helps across close, planning, reporting, and approvals.
• Partner with Engineering. Act as the finance business partner to the MONOPOLY GO! Engineering organization — helping them understand and plan their spend and headcount — and work with People & Talent, Business Operations, Customer Support, and QA to gather budget inputs and explain OpEx variances clearly.
• Think in systems. Connect steps across finance so the process gets simpler over time, with sensible checks where judgment matters.
• Keep the models trustworthy. Maintain revenue/cost and workforce-planning models so leadership sees current, reconciled, defensible numbers.

What we're looking for

• An automation habit — you've automated manual reporting or finance processes, and you're interested in applying AI to real work. Experience with BigQuery, SQL, Python, or AI tools is a big plus
• Operational reliability — a track record of dependable, detail-accurate delivery on recurring, high-volume work
• Clear communication — you can explain numbers and variances to non-finance partners
• Located in, or willing to relocate to, the Los Angeles metro, working on-site/hybrid
• Ownership and integrity — you do well in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, and are always looking for ways to add value
• Strong Excel and financial modeling — you build and maintain revenue/cost models and handle large datasets without hand-holding
• Hands-on FP&A foundation — you've done planning, forecasting, variance analysis, and a real close/reporting cadence, and can hit the ground running
• 2–5 years of finance/analytical experience, ideally in FP&A or finance at a brand-name technology or high-growth company

How you work

• You form your own point of view and make the case for it — and you let it go gracefully when someone has the better argument.
• You lead with questions. You learn why something is the way it is before you start rewiring it.
• You get to great by iterating. You put a solid version out early, invite feedback, and keep sharpening it.
• When something falls between the cracks, you assume it's yours. You close the loop instead of flagging it and moving on.
• When you hit the same manual task twice, your instinct is to automate it — not grind through it a third time.

Nice to have

• An undergraduate degree in engineering (computer, mechanical, electrical, industrial, aerospace, etc.) — a real plus for this role.
• Something you've built — an automation or tool you can walk us through.
• Experience with financial systems such as Oracle and Workday / Workday Adaptive Planning.
• Data platforms — Big Query, etc.
• A genuine interest in games, consumer products, or technology-driven businesses.
