Symmetrio is recruiting for a hybrid Senior Electrical Engineer on behalf of our customer, a leading manufacturer of specialized medical equipment and quality assurance systems used to support the testing, measurement, and performance verification of medical equipment.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on Electrical Engineer with strong FPGA/digital design experience, solid analog electronics skills, and experience designing low-noise, low-leakage precision measurement circuits in a regulated industry.
This is a hybrid position based in Melbourne, FL. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop microcontroller and FPGA architectures for medical measurement and control systems.
- Develop and verify FPGA designs using Verilog/VHDL for real-time signal processing and timing-critical applications.
- Design and troubleshoot low-noise, low-leakage analog signal conditioning circuits, including femtoampere-range measurement systems.
- Define system requirements, functional specifications, and verification/acceptance criteria; participate in design reviews and design control activities.
- Own electrical design documentation, including schematics, PCB layout specifications, design specifications, and technical procedures.
- Analyze and optimize noise, leakage, signal integrity, and overall circuit performance.
- Support verification, validation, manufacturing troubleshooting, and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) activities.
- Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and other engineering teams to bring designs from concept through production.
- Mentor junior engineers and serve as a technical subject matter expert (SME) on complex electrical design and troubleshooting challenges.
- Ensure designs meet applicable medical-device regulatory and quality requirements, including IEC 60601, design controls, and traceability.
- Maintain comprehensive engineering documentation and design records throughout the product development lifecycle.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline
- 8–10+ years in electrical design and analysis with hands-on circuit design experience
