🌍 About Us

NPX partners with nuclear utilities and new reactor projects to unlock performance through innovation. We combine decades of nuclear operation expertise with AI, digital tools, and lean processes, to help plants run safer, smarter, and more cost-effectively. Our Digital Transformation team scales this expertise through both NPX-developed and industry-leading products, delivering solutions to clients across Canada, the U.S., and globally.

🧠 The Role

We’re seeking a hands-on Senior DevOps Developer who thrives on designing, building, and operating secure, production-grade cloud and on-premises infrastructure in regulated environments. You’ll play a key role in enabling our engineering teams to deploy mission-critical digital solutions into the nuclear industry.

This role sits at the intersection of cloud architecture, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and reliability engineering. You’ll own infrastructure strategy, drive automation at scale, and ensure our SaaS and AI-enabled systems are secure, resilient, and production-ready.

If you enjoy taking an idea from whiteboard → working code → secure, compliant production system - this role is for you.

Travel Requirements: Travel for quarterly team events.

Salary Range: $170-190k (Exact compensation may vary)

🎯What You'll Drive

Architect, implement, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP, Azure is preferred) supporting scalable SaaS and AI-enabled products.
Lead containerization and orchestration efforts using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS/EKS/GKE, AKS is preferred).
Design, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines incorporating automated testing, security scanning, and deployment controls (DevSecOps).
Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, ARM, or equivalent) to ensure reproducible, auditable environments.
Establish observability standards (metrics, logging, tracing) using modern monitoring tools to support SLIs/SLOs and high availability targets.
Own reliability engineering practices including disaster recovery strategies, backup automation, and incident response processes.
Implement secure architecture patterns, IAM controls, secrets management, and infrastructure hardening suitable for regulated industries.
Collaborate closely with software engineers to embed DevOps best practices directly into product development.
Contribute to architectural decisions and define cloud platform standards that scale across client deployments.
Help raise the bar for engineering quality, security, and operational excellence across the team.
Lead post-incident sessions for when production issues occur and root-cause analysis is required.

✨What You Bring

Technical Breadth: You understand how software is built, deployed, and operated. A background in application development is a strong asset, enabling deeper troubleshooting, better automation, and more effective partnership with product teams.
Results & Impact: You deliver secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure that drives measurable product and customer value.
Hands-On Leadership: You lead by building, setting technical standards through code, architecture, and operational excellence.
Adaptability & Growth: You continuously learn and apply modern cloud, automation, and DevSecOps practices that perform in real production environments.
Initiative & Ownership: You take systems from concept to compliant, production-ready deployment and own outcomes end-to-end.
