QphoX is looking for a RF Electronics Engineer to join us in developing and building our technology for scalable and networked quantum computing. In this role, you will collaborate with scientists and engineers focusing on the development of optical interconnects for control, readout and networking of quantum processors. As a RF Electronics Engineer, you will contribute to the conceptualisation, design and realisation of hardware for the delivery and detection of RF signals in the SHF band, both at room temperature as well as at cryogenic temperatures.

In-depth understanding of quantum networking or quantum computing is not required for this role.

You will be involved in:

Simulation, design and measurement of ICs, PCBs and interconnects for high-integrity delivery and detection of RF signals in the SHF band for both room temperature and cryogenic hardware.
Development of circuitry for impedance matching of electro-optic and opto-electronic converters.
Analysing, summarising, and presenting results through reports, presentations, and technical discussions.
Collaborating closely within a diverse, multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers.

Skills and knowledge you will bring to QphoX:

A masters (WO) degree in electrical engineering, physics or a related subject.
2+ years of industry or applied research experience in one or more of the following: RF circuit design, RF systems engineering, RF test & measurement.
Proven track record in conceptualization and design of high-frequency electronic circuits, components and interconnects.
Advanced to expert level knowledge in using EM field solver software, such Ansys HFSS, Cadence AWR, SONNET and COMSOL.
Proficiency in practical characterization and testing of microwave devices using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, vector network analysers and spectrum analysers.
Experience designing analogue electronics circuit and PCB based RF solutions.
Experience with Altium is an advantage.
The ability to work collaboratively with inter-disciplinary teams.
An organised and rigorous working style.

Our Ideal Candidate:

Our ideal candidate is passionate about optimizing signal delivery and detection chains. They combine physical intuition of EM fields with systematic calculation and simulation to deliver practical solutions. They are able to communicate their results to a broad audience.

Teamwork is an essential value of our company, hence fitting into the team is crucial. Finally, the candidate should thrive in a fast-paced learning environment.

We strongly encourage people of any underrepresented group to apply as we are committed to diversity and work to build an inclusive environment where all people, regardless of gender, race, religion, or background, can thrive.

Benefits and other perks of working with us:

Competitive salary.
Employment stock ownership plan.
End-year performance-based bonus.
25 days of holidays on a full-time basis.
Career growth opportunities.
Opportunities to network and connect.

About us:

At QphoX we strive to be an inclusive place where a diverse mix of talented people want to come, to learn, to live their passion and do their best work.

We are dedicated to promoting equality, creating a safe environment for everyone, and believe deeply in diversity of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, national origin, age, socioeconomic background and all the other fascinating characteristics that make us different. We truly think diversity is a strength and working in a diverse environment, and being exposed to a variety of perspectives makes us stronger as a team and better human beings.
