Job Description

We are inviting applications for 2 postdoctoral positions in our laboratory at The Ohio State University, Wexner Medical Center, Department of Neurology & Neuroscience Research Institute. Examples for current projects are in vivo and in vitro mechanistic studies on how metabolic perturbations in oligodendrocytes result in compromised axon integrity, and research on metabolic adaptations in Schwann cells/oligodendrocytes that support the survival of injured axons. The Post Doctoral Researcher will pursue specialized research training, education and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor in the Department of Neurology; plan, design and execute experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the assigned research lab; collect and analyzes data for research sponsored by appropriate agencies and Institutions; identify and select problems to be studied; develop and troubleshoot new experimental techniques and protocols; attend research seminars; contribute to manuscript preparation and support technical writing; participate in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding; perform additional duties as assigned.
