Podiatrist — Rockingham, WA Private practice | Full-time or part-time | Strong caseload, real clinical work
An established private practice near Rockingham is looking for a Podiatrist to join its team. The clinic has been serving the local community for years, has strong referral relationships with GPs and specialists across the southern corridor, and has built a patient base that keeps the diary full without needing to advertise for it.
The team is friendly, the management is practical, and the workflow is set up to let clinicians do clinical work — bookings, billing, and admin are handled by a capable front-of-house team.
Why the caseload is worth talking about
Rockingham and the surrounding area — Kwinana, Baldivis, Waikiki, Secret Harbour, Mandurah — has a patient demographic that generates genuinely interesting clinical work:
- High-risk foot and diabetic caseload — the region has significantly higher rates of diabetes and vascular disease than the Perth metropolitan average, which means real complexity and real clinical development
- Working-population musculoskeletal work — a lot of trades, defence personnel from HMAS Stirling, and industrial workers, which translates to a steady flow of biomechanical and MSK presentations
- Ageing coastal population — Rockingham and Mandurah are major retirement destinations, driving consistent general and preventive podiatry demand
- Paediatric and family work — one of WA's fastest-growing family demographics, so gait, footwear, and developmental presentations are part of the regular mix
For a clinician wanting breadth and clinical depth, this is a caseload you'd struggle to replicate in a wealthier suburb.
The role
- Full-time preferred; part-time considered for the right candidate
- Busy from day one — established books, no ramp-up period
- Mix of general podiatry, diabetic and high-risk foot care, MSK and biomechanical assessment, minor procedures, and orthotic work
- Modern, well-equipped treatment rooms
- Strong reception and admin support
- Clinical autonomy with practical, hands-off management
About the area
Rockingham is 45 minutes south of Perth, on the coast, and has been one of WA's fastest-growing regions for the last decade:
- Coastal lifestyle without the northern-suburbs price tag — Point Peron, Palm Beach, and Safety Bay are on your doorstep
- The Rockingham foreshore — genuinely one of Perth's better public spaces, with a decent café strip and swimming beaches that most locals prefer to Cottesloe
- Housing that stacks up — median prices well below Perth metro averages, and a mortgage a private-practice salary can comfortably carry
- Practical infrastructure — Rockingham General Hospital, Murdoch University's Rockingham campus, direct Mandurah train line to the CBD
- The southern getaway route — Margaret River is two and a half hours down the freeway; Dunsborough is a regular weekend option
For clinicians wanting a proper WA lifestyle without stretching to Cottesloe or Hillarys prices, Rockingham does the job better than most people realise.
What's on offer
- Competitive base salary, structured around WA private-practice rates
- Incentive structure on top of base for higher-billing clinicians
- Consistent, established caseload
- Supportive team and grown-up management
- Funded professional development
- Relocation support available for interstate or overseas candidates
- Long-term career opportunity in a stable, growing practice
About you
- AHPRA-registered Podiatrist, or eligible for registration
- Interested in real clinical variety — not just routine care
- Good communicator, professional, and reliable
- Comfortable with a working-class and mixed-demographic patient base — this practice serves its community, not a postcode
- New graduates with the right attitude are welcome to have a conversation; structured mentoring is available
