Mechanical Engineer (Structures)

• The Mechanical Engineer, Structures will play a critical role in driving our mission to make data universally available, secure and actionable anywhere on the planet.
• This position will report to the VP, Satellite Platform and will work closely with the broader engineering team
• Work closely with the satellite design team to design satellite structures and mechanisms
• Serve as the CAD modeling expert (SolidWorks) managing complex CAD assemblies and drawings
• Lead mechanical engineering design reviews
• Drive the development of build documents and drawings for your hardware
• Define, build and test your designs from 3D printed engineering units to flight hardware
• Support the fabrication assembly and testing of our flight build

Preferred experience

• You have experience with mechanical design to survive extreme environments and challenging mass constraints
• You have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Aerospace or equivalent real-world design and build experience
• You have at least 2 years of hands-on experience using your CAD skills to develop and build models and drawings
• You have successfully implemented your design solutions in a complex space
