Reporting to: Head of Electromechanical Engineering

Commencement: January 2027

Introducing Timoney Technology

Timoney is a global leader in the design and manufacture of specialist driveline systems for off-road vehicles. We are experts in Vehicle Dynamics, Independent Suspension, and Axle Systems. Timoney provides complete vehicle design and manufacture solutions across construction, firefighting, vocational, defence, mining, and special-purpose vehicle markets. Based in Navan Ireland, Timoney has been in business for over 50 years with exports to over forty countries worldwide.

Our recent acquisition by Kessler + Co, brings enhanced manufacturing capabilities to complement our extensive experience and vehicle knowledge.

Due to continued expansion, including exciting electrical and hybrid technology projects, Timoney is now looking hire an Intern Electrical Engineer to join our team designing next generation off road hybrid electric vehicles.

The Role

Timoney is seeking an Intern Electrical Engineer to work as part of our design teams on internal and client projects. We develop all aspects of vehicle suspension, driveline, and powertrain systems. Timoney operates hybrid working policy.

The successful candidate will be expected to assist the design team to:

Analyse vehicle performance in MATLAB, Simulink, Adams (or equivalent) and calibrate vehicle control parameters.
Determine vehicle propulsion and power distribution requirements and select appropriate components including inverters, motors, power converters, batteries and engines.
Electrify traditionally mechanical driveline systems including axles, steering and suspension systems.
Design high and low-voltage circuits based on customer specifications using 3D or schematic modelling software.
Design wiring harnesses for conventional and hybrid axle and driveline systems.
Select electrical components and ensure that their installation and operation conform to standards and customer requirements.
Work on vehicle communication networks including CAN and hardware signalling.
Other tasks as designated by your manager.
