WHO PLATFORM45 IS

We are responsible for code changing the lives of people around the world, every day. We solve complex problems and build big ideas. And we don’t stop. We believe in the ability of technology to make the world a better place; we’re driven to rip through conformity and create new solutions, smarter habits. We know why we’re here: To unleash the potential of people through the power of technology. We are people multiplied by the power of tech and together we are changing the world.

CONTEXT | THE ROLE

Being a developer is not just about the ‘code’. At Platform45, our developers are all-rounders who can write exceptional, well-designed, and testable code but also collaborate effectively within their team and with others. Over and above the technical know-how, you’ll need good verbal and written skills as you build up relationships with our clients. At Platform45, we treat our clients like partners - they’re an important part of the team and we strive to work together to build something beautiful. As a developer operating at a high-intermediate level, you’ll work with growing autonomy and take ownership of your work, while continuing to learn - whether that means new language features, keeping ahead of industry trends and methodologies, or other facets of the tech stack - our goal is to develop the best products to solve our client’s needs.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES | THE WHAT & THE HOW

The Essentials

Software Development
- Independently develop, test, enhance, and maintain iOS applications and solutions to a high standard, taking ownership of features and modules from design through to release.
Technical Design
- Contribute to the design of scalable and efficient software architecture alongside senior engineers, and make sound design decisions within your areas of ownership.
- Build and implement new features while maintaining and enhancing the existing functionality of iOS apps.
- Integrate RESTful APIs and work closely with the backend team to ensure seamless communication between the app and server.
Code Reviews
- Conduct and participate in code reviews, upholding code quality, performance, and adherence to coding standards, and helping to raise the bar across the team.

Troubleshooting and Debugging
- Independently troubleshoot, identify, and resolve complex issues related to app performance, bugs, and compatibility across different devices.
Documentation
- Create and maintain technical documentation including design documents, specifications, and user manuals.
Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and quality assurance engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, and contribute to process improvements and innovation initiatives within the organisation.
Project Management
- Own the delivery of your features and tasks end-to-end — managing timelines effectively and proactively communicating progress, risks, and challenges to stakeholders.
Mentoring
- Support and mentor junior developers, sharing knowledge and guiding them on best practices, coding standards, and problem-solving.
