Why Numeric

Every business runs on accounting, but the systems underneath it were built for a different era. Today’s ERPs don’t store a company’s financial data. They store a diluted copy of it. Every contract, lease, and invoice gets flattened into a journal entry, and the context that made it meaningful is thrown away. That’s why accounting teams spend every month re-checking numbers, stitching together spreadsheets, and waiting on engineering, and why AI struggles to do real accounting work. Accounting doesn’t have a reporting problem. It has a data problem.

Enter Numeric: the data platform finance teams run on. We started with the month-end close, where the data problem hurts most, and hundreds of finance teams now run their close on Numeric. That work led us to rebuild the system of record itself. In September 2026 we launched the Financial Data Platform (FDP), a platform built for the agent era. Instead of a journal entry, the real business object enters the system and the accounting is derived from it. Every number is traceable to its source, reporting works on any dimension, and accountants and AI agents finally have enough context to work together. While others bolted AI features onto the old data model, we built a new one.

We have a growing base of customers who love our product, including Anthropic, Plaid, Brex, Betterment, Wealthfront, and Asana. We’ve raised $89M from top-tier investors including IVP, Menlo Ventures, Founders Fund, and 8VC, along with founders and executives from Ramp, Segment, and other category-defining companies. We’re hybrid but in-office first, with teams in New York, San Francisco, and London, and we just shipped the product that will define our next decade. There’s never been a better time to join.

About the role

Do you love accounting, but know your calling isn't closing books every month?
Ever wish you could build the close process you always wished you'd inherited?
Do you get energized by taking a customer from signed contract to fully live?

If any of that resonates, this role is for you. As an Implementations Associate, you'll do the hands-on work that gets new customers live on Numeric: configuring their workspace around how they actually close, connecting their ERP and subledgers, running trainings, and keeping the project moving until they're closing in the product.

Implementation is the ops-and-process side of our post-sales team: structured projects, technical configuration, and real project management. This is the entry point to that team, built for an accountant who wants to move from closing the books to building the systems that close them. You'll work alongside Implementations Managers who own projects end-to-end, with a clear path to becoming an Implementations Manager.

You'll be joining a team of reformed accountants, alumni of EY, PwC, KPMG, and Deloitte, plus in-house teams at companies like Brex, Meta, and WHOOP, who decided building the future of the close beat running one. We're also one of the most AI-forward post-sales teams in SaaS: we build our own AI agents and internal tooling rather than waiting for someone to build it for us.

What You'll Do

Configure customer workspaces, AI-first. Build close checklists, reconciliation setups, flux analyses, and reporting mapped to each customer's actual close, using AI-assisted configuration to do in hours what used to take days.
Connect and validate data. Set up ERP integrations (especially NetSuite) and sub-ledger connections, troubleshoot integration issues such as token and permissioning errors, and validate that everything ties out before the customer sees it.
Run trainings that stick. Deliver onboarding sessions and live reconciliation walkthroughs that take an accounting team from skeptical to fluent, including getting them comfortable with Numeric's AI features, not just the buttons. Occasionally in person at the customer's office.
Manage your workstreams like projects. Keep the implementation dashboard up to date, chase customer homework, manage expectations around timelines, and escalate product blockers to Engineering and Product with clear context.
Ramp on Close, then go deeper. Start with close management implementations, then build toward our more technical surface areas. Cash is our most complex product, with transaction-matching rules, SFTP data feeds, and automation rate tuning.
Automate the motion itself. Every implementation should make the next one faster: write Knowledge Base articles, build templates, and train AI agents to take repetitive work off the team's plate.

What You'll Bring

Accounting Foundation: 2-5 years of accounting experience with real fluency in the monthly close and reconciliations. Public accounting backgrounds welcome, including straight out of Big 4; a year or more in-house at a high-growth company is a plus. We're looking for breadth across the close, not a single specialty.
Technical & Detail-Oriented: You learn software fast, you're precise with data, and "it ties out" is a phrase that brings you joy.
Customer-Centric Mindset: An implementation is a stressful moment for a customer. You make it feel handled.
Strong Communication & Problem-Solving: You explain configuration decisions in the customer's language and debug a mismatched reconciliation methodically.
Bias for Action & Collaboration: You operate with urgency, own your workstreams end to end, and know when to escalate.

Nice to Haves (Not Required):

Hands-on experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Xero
Prior implementation, onboarding, or accounting-systems work
CPA certification or actively pursuing
Experience with multi-entity or multi-currency accounting
Ability to write and run basic SQL queries

What Success Looks Like

Speed: Your workstreams consistently hit their dates and contribute to fast customer time-to-value
Quality: Configurations you build are right the first time and hold up after go-live
Training Impact: Customers you train actually use the product, and adoption signals show it
Project Hygiene: Your accounts on the implementation dashboard are always current, and blockers surface early with clear root causes
Growth: You become a product and close-process expert quickly and earn a clear trajectory toward Implementations Manager

How We Work

This role is hybrid in San Francisco or New York (hybrid but in-office first, with flexibility to manage your schedule as you see fit).

We strongly believe we will only be successful if everyone on the team is anchored in our following set of core principles:

Brick by Brick: To win, our team needs to show up and execute in each domain every day.
Love the Game: We focus on the craft and a deep sense of giving a f*ck. We're building a company full of people who are equally engaged and motivated.
SALY: We refuse to accept "Same As Last Year." For too long, accounting and finance systems have reflected outdated processes instead of reimagining what's possible. We're driven by a first-principles approach to building better solutions.
Own the Outcome: We own our results. We typically hire builders and give them large mandates with high trust. Even early in your career, you're responsible for customer outcomes, not just task completion.
Earn the Right: We're impatient to deliver results. We relentlessly iterate, measure, and improve. Every day is an opportunity to beat our prior best, raising the bar for the value we deliver to customers.
