IB Teacher Tutor

Lanterna Education works with ambitious IB students across 80+ countries. We only work with experienced IB teachers and examiners who know their subject inside out and can bring that knowledge to life in a one-on-one online setting.

We think you'll be a good fit if you:

• Have current or past experience teaching in an IB World School

• Know your subject inside out, not just the concepts, but what the IB actually expects from students at every level

• Can explain complex ideas clearly and naturally

• Are confident teaching online, can keep students engaged in a virtual setting, and are comfortable using different tools and platforms to bring lessons to life

• Have your own reliable setup, laptop, microphone, and a stable internet connection

• Have prior tutoring experience

• Are looking for flexible work that fits around your other commitments

What you'll do

You'll work one-on-one with IB students online, tutoring your subject across their whole IB journey. Some students need focused exam preparation, others want steady support over a longer period. In sessions you will explain concepts, work through problems together, set homework where it helps, and follow up with feedback after each session. No two students are the same, and the best tutors adapt quickly to what each student actually needs.

What you'll get

• £27/hour as an IB teacher, £35/hour as an IB teacher with IB examiner experience

• Fully remote, flexible work that fits around your schedule

• Students found for you, no cold outreach or self-marketing

• A supportive team behind you, ready to help with anything from safeguarding to academic integrity questions

• The chance to work closely with students from all over the world who genuinely need your support

What to expect

We review applications on a rolling basis. Successful candidates are invited for a short introductory call, followed by a second interview including a mock lesson. If everything clicks, we'll send over a contract and get you started.

If you are interested in both substitute teaching and tutoring, please apply through our Substitute Teacher listing. If hired, you will be onboarded for both roles.

If you are an IB graduate rather than a teacher, please visit our IB Graduate Tutor listing instead.
