Practice Medicine the Way You Always Hoped You Would!

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarians to serve pet families throughout Mt. Lebanon, Canonsburg & Bethel Park - Pennsylvania.

If you are a compassionate veterinarian looking for a career outside the traditional clinic environment - one with greater professional autonomy, meaningful relationships with pet families, and the time to practice veterinary medicine with intention - Heartstrings Pet Hospice offers a different way to practice.

No waiting room. No double-booked appointment columns. No corporate production dashboard. Just you, a family who loves their pet, and the time and space to provide compassionate end-of-life veterinary care the way you believe it should be provided.

At Heartstrings, our veterinarians provide in-home pet hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and compassionate euthanasia services, helping families navigate one of the most difficult moments of pet ownership in the comfort and privacy of home.

Privately Held. Family-Owned. Doctor-Led.

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is a Privately held, Family-Owned and Doctor-Led Veterinary Practice. We are not a private-equity-owned veterinary group, and we believe veterinarians should have the professional autonomy to practice medicine while maintaining control over the direction of their careers.

And at Heartstrings, WE DO NOT USE VETERINARIAN NON-COMPETE AGREEMENTS.

Not a shortened non-compete.
Not a smaller geographic radius.
Not a so-called “reasonable” restriction.

None!

Your veterinary career should never be held hostage by a contract clause.

Unlike veterinary organizations that restrict where veterinarians can work after leaving, Heartstrings believes talented veterinary professionals should be free to build their careers on their own terms.

We want veterinarians to stay with Heartstrings because they Choose To Stay - because they value the work, the families they serve, their professional autonomy, and the quality of life this type of veterinary medicine can provide.

Your career belongs to you. We would simply like the opportunity to earn the right to be part of it.

If you are searching for a veterinarian job in Mt. Lebanon, Canonsburg & Bethel Park - Pennsylvania area and want to explore a career in in-home pet hospice, palliative care, and euthanasia, we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you.

Compassion. Dignity. Respect.
That is what we promise pet families—and what we believe veterinary professionals deserve from the organization they choose to call home.

Who Thrives Here

The veterinarians who thrive at Heartstrings Pet Hospice are often the doctors who have always been especially good at the moments that matter most—the difficult conversations, supporting families through anticipatory grief, and providing compassionate end-of-life veterinary care with empathy, confidence, and clinical judgment.

If you have ever finished a euthanasia appointment and thought, “That was the most meaningful thing I did all week—I just wish I’d had another twenty minutes,” you already understand why veterinarians choose In-Home Pet Hospice and Euthanasia Care.

This role can be an especially meaningful career path for experienced general practice and emergency veterinarians who want to step away from the relentless pace of a traditional veterinary hospital or ER without stepping away from practicing medicine. Instead of crowded appointment schedules and competing demands, our veterinarians can focus on hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, pain and symptom management, and peaceful in-home euthanasia while helping families make informed, compassionate decisions for the pets they love.

We also genuinely welcome veterinarians returning to clinical practice, doctors seeking a flexible veterinary career, and veterinarians building a schedule around children, family, travel, or life outside of work.

You spent years becoming a veterinarian. You should not have to choose between practicing meaningful veterinary medicine and having a meaningful life outside of it.
