AI is reshaping every industry on earth, and right now, almost no one has figured out how to govern it. Trustible exists to meet that challenge. We're building the platform that lets the world's largest organizations move fast with AI and prove they're doing it responsibly.
We're an AI-native Public Benefit Corporation headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, backed by over $6M in venture funding from investors betting on trustworthy AI as one of the defining infrastructure categories of the decade. We're winning enterprise customers in some of the most impactful industries in the world, and this role sits right where our platform meets their reality.
The Role
We're hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with customers after they've signed, building the connectors and integrations that plug their environment into Trustible. This is a core app engineering role. The code you write lands in our main codebase, not a one-off script living outside it, and it needs to hold up the same way any other production feature does.
You'll spend real time with customer technical teams to understand what they need to integrate (their AI tools, data sources, identity systems, and similar), then go build it directly in our Django app. The work is customer-driven, but the craft bar is the same as any other engineer on the team. Over time you'll build a strong sense of which integration patterns are common enough to generalize, and you'll shape how the platform's connector architecture evolves as a result.
Some travel is expected for on-site customer meeting.
What You'll Do
- Design and build connectors and integrations directly in Trustible's core Django application
- Work with customer technical teams to scope what a given integration actually needs to do
- Write production-quality code that meets the same standards as the rest of the platform: tested, reviewed, and maintainable
- Identify integration patterns that show up across customers and turn them into reusable, general-purpose capabilities
- Debug integration issues in live customer environments and trace them back to root cause in the core app
- Partner with core engineering on architecture decisions that affect how connectors are built platform-wide
- Travel occasionally for on-site customer engagements, roughly 10% of your time
What You Bring
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with real depth in Python
- Strong experience with Django or a comparable backend framework, and comfort contributing to a shared, actively developed codebase
- Experience building integrations against external APIs, and a good sense for how to design one that will hold up beyond the first customer
- Strong debugging instincts. You can trace a problem through a system you didn't originally build and fix it at the source
- Comfort working directly with customers to scope technical requirements, not just receiving a finished spec
- Excellent communication skills. You can sit with a customer's engineers, understand their constraints, and turn that into a clear plan for what to build
- Comfort with some travel for on-site customer work

- Prior experience at an early or growth-stage startup
