About Us
Streamline Media Group is a 25-year creative development studio specializing in full video game development, co-development, publishing, and interactive digital asset production. We have shipped titles across every major platform for clients, including Sony, Microsoft, and global AAA publishers.
The company operates across Malaysia, the United States, and Japan, with partnerships in Latin America. We move fast and expect people to adapt quickly. Team members often wear multiple hats, and while processes exist, ownership and resourcefulness matter more. You will be expected to grow quickly with clear expectations and direct leadership.
We are also a technology-forward organization. Streamframe, our proprietary ERP and orchestration platform, manages projects, finances, contracts, and delivery across the company. AI tools are used actively, and everyone is expected to build working fluency with them. If you prefer to wait to be told what to learn, this is not the right environment.
Role Description
Streamline runs a lean finance function. As Finance Executive, you will support day-to-day financial operations across Malaysia, the United States, and Japan, ensuring documentation, reporting, and compliance remain audit-ready.
This role supports how funds move across the organization and helps ensure financial information reaches the right stakeholders. You will work closely with the Director of Finance and gain visibility into how the business operates. Streamframe will be your primary working environment, supported by Cowork and AI tools.
The role also requires coordination with internal teams and external partners, including bookkeepers, auditors, tax agents, and legal advisors, across multiple jurisdictions. This includes Malaysian statutory and EPF/KWSP obligations, US entity compliance, and Japan statutory filings. Experience with restructuring, entity formation, or multi-jurisdiction compliance environments will be valuable.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Operations
- Handle accounts payable and receivable across all entities (Malaysia, US, Japan), including vendor payment scheduling, client invoicing, and collections follow-up.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready financial records, transaction data, and supporting documentation at all times.
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations and maintain fixed asset registers across entities.
- Manage multi-currency transactions (MYR, USD, JPY) and ensure accurate foreign exchange treatment.
Compliance & Statutory
- Support tax and statutory submissions across jurisdictions as directed, including Malaysian SST, EPF/KWSP, SOCSO, and income tax filings.
- Liaise with external bookkeepers, auditors, and tax agents to collect, verify, and submit required documentation on schedule.
- Maintain awareness of compliance obligations across our US and Japan entities and flag upcoming deadlines proactively.
- Support entity-level compliance work, including closures, restructuring, and new entity onboarding as directed by the Director of Finance and legal counsel.
Finance Orchestration & Systems
- Operate Streamframe as a primary working tool — logging transactions, tracking project financials, coordinating approvals, and maintaining visibility for the finance team and leadership.
- Maintain and improve workflows in Xero; assist with data access and organization in Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Support the integration and adoption of the ICARUS finance tool as it is built into Streamframe — including data entry, reconciliation support, and process documentation.
- Use Cowork and AI tools to automate routine tasks, improve reporting accuracy, and reduce manual processing time.
- Identify process gaps and propose improvements — we expect this role to actively make our finance function smarter, not just maintain it.
Coordination & Communication
- Respond promptly to internal finance queries from across the organization — production, HR, legal, and leadership.
- Coordinate with external advisors on documentation, compliance queries, and reporting requirements.
- Support preparation for the monthly Directors Council and FoMo financial reviews — ensuring relevant data is prepared, accurate, and ready for leadership discussion.
- Flag financial risks, anomalies, or deadline pressures early — do not wait to be asked.
How Success is Measured
Finance Executives will be evaluated on the following dimensions:
- Accuracy
- Timeliness
- Compliance
- Coordination
- System Adoption
- Ownership
Job Skills
Required
- Proficiency in Xero — day-to-day accounts operations, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Strong Excel skills — formulas, pivot tables, multi-sheet reconciliations.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and AP/AR processes.
- Comfortable working with multi-currency transactions (MYR, USD, JPY).
- Experience navigating Malaysian statutory obligations — EPF/KWSP, SOCSO, SST, income tax.
- Detail-oriented and organized — able to manage multiple entities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Comfortable in a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous) environment where priorities can shift fast.
- Open to and actively learning AI and automation tools — this is not optional.
Strongly Preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 — data access, reporting, or migration support.
- Experience working within a proprietary ERP or project management system (Streamframe fluency will be developed on the job, but comfort with structured digital platforms matters).
- Exposure to multi-entity corporate structures — including entity formation, restructuring, or statutory closures.
- Familiarity with royalty accounting or IP licensing agreement financials.
- Experience supporting or coordinating with external legal counsel on financial documentation.
- Prior experience in gaming, media, creative production, or technology companies.
Nice to Have
- ACCA, CPA, CA(M), or equivalent professional qualification — in progress or completed.
- Exposure to US entity compliance (Nevada LLC or equivalent).
- Experience with Japan statutory filings or working with Japanese corporate structures.
- Interest in finance process automation, internal controls, or compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with cryptocurrency accounting or digital asset transactions.

What to expect:
We believe in being direct with candidates about what this role actually involves:
- You will be working in a lean team where everyone pulls more than their formal job description. The person who says 'that's not my job' does not last here.
- The first 90 days will be dense. You will be onboarding into Streamframe, getting across the financial state of multiple entities, and learning our compliance landscape simultaneously.
- You will have real visibility into how a global creative company runs financially — including the hard parts. This is not a role where you sit behind a process and never see the business.
- Leadership is accessible and direct. The CEO and the Director of Finance communicate clearly about priorities and will tell you when something is not working. We expect the same from you.
- You will be expected to learn continuously. AI is changing finance workflows rapidly. The people who thrive here stay ahead of that curve, not behind it.
- This is a hybrid role based in Kuala Lumpur. Some weeks are heavier than others. We do not glorify overwork, but we are honest that this is a demanding environment.
