Engineering Manager - Packet Processing

Your Role

Are you an experienced engineering leader with a strong technical foundation and an understanding of networking protocols and applications? Do you enjoy leading teams working on complex, performance-sensitive software?
At emnify, you will lead a team focused on control plane packet processing, a critical part of our platform that bridges telecom protocols and internet-based systems. This domain is central to how we enable reliable, high-performance connectivity at scale. As part of the Engineering organization, you will take ownership of a team working on one of our most complex and performance-sensitive areas. You will guide both people and technical direction, ensuring the team delivers robust solutions while continuously improving how it operates.
The Packet Gateway environment includes:
✓ Go for control plane services in a cloud-native architecture
✓ AWS infrastructure, primarily EKS, with supporting managed services
✓ Distributed systems communicating via Kafka and gRPC
✓ Designing solutions based on networking protocols and packet processing concepts

Your Impact

• Lead and develop a team of ~6 engineers, driving performance, clarity, and accountability
• Provide technical direction for the team's control plane packet-processing systems, working with engineers and adjacent teams to ensure sound design and maintainable solutions
• Translate engineering priorities into clear plans, managing delivery, risks, and dependencies
• Work closely with adjacent teams to align on architecture, trade-offs, and system evolution
• Build a strong team environment through coaching, feedback, and structured development

What We Expect
