About the Company:
We are a stealth-mode Aerospace & Defense startup headquartered in Gardena, CA. Our founding team hails from SpaceX, Anduril, and Lockheed Martin, and we are backed by Joint Staff-level military leadership and several Silicon Valley firms. With a world-class business development & leadership team already in place, we are well positioned to capitalize on already overwhelming demand.
Role Overview:
As an electrical engineer you will own the design, manufacturing, and integration of the embedded electronics that power our next-generation flight systems and ground support equipment. As an early to mid-career engineer, you will have an opportunity to build from fundamentals and learn a wide variety of skills in a startup environment.
You’ll work closely with flight software, mechanical, GNC, and manufacturing teams to deliver best in-class electronic systems. If you want to build complex hardware on systems that matter—this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the design and manufacturing processes for custom harnesses
- Support design of embedded avionics systems including power, compute, sensing, actuation, and communication subsystems
- Act as the primary point of contact for any manufacturing issues on electrical assemblies
- Determine layer stackup, perform component package selection, component placement, routing feasibility studies, and signal routing of digital, analog, RF, and power conversion of printed circuit boards (PCB)
- Create and release documentation for fabrication of PCBs
- Own schematic design, component selection, PCB layout, and design review
- Manage board-level bring-up, debugging, and validation in lab and field test environments
- Guide board-level manufacturing, testing, and assembly processes (both in-house and external vendors)
- Establish test procedures for validation, environmental, and EMC/ESD qualification
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Strong experience with Altium Designer or similar CAD system (KICAD, EAGLE, CADENCE)
- Experienced with High-speed digital electronics, embedded microcontrollers, RF components, power electronics, digital buses (CAN, SPI, UART, I2C), sensor integration
- 1-5 years of experience designing, building, and testing embedded electronics for aerospace, defense, robotics, or automotive systems
- Proficiency in schematic capture, layout (Altium), and board-level signal and power integrity design
- Familiarity with environmental design constraints including thermal, EMI/EMC, shock, and vibration
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in avionics or high-reliability hardware systems
- Proven experience delivering complex, multi-board avionics or embedded systems from concept to production
- Familiarity with NVIDIA Jetson platforms, STM32, RP2040, or other aerospace-class embedded systems
- Experience in design-for-manufacture and supply chain planning for high-mix, low-volume aerospace production
- Experience with rapid prototyping, in-house assembly, and validation test campaign.
- Prior work in systems where the hardware must survive extreme environments (missiles, launch vehicles, hypersonic systems, satellites)
