Job Summary:

Trade the Human Medicine Grind for Purpose, Work-Life Balance & Cutting-Edge Tech

Are you an ARRT-certified Radiologic Technologist looking for a refreshing career path? Tired of overnight shifts, high-stress human trauma centers, and chaotic hospital schedules? Bring your imaging expertise to the world of veterinary medicine!

At UW Veterinary Care, we operate just like a high-level human hospital—utilizing advanced diagnostic imaging to evaluate, diagnose, and save lives—except our patients have tail wags, purrs, and hooves! We are eager to welcome new graduates and early-career techs to join our team in our newly expanded, state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging facility.

No prior animal experience? No problem! If you bring strong foundational knowledge in imaging physics and positioning techniques, our supportive team will teach you everything you need to know about animal handling and veterinary anatomy.

What You’ll Do

As part of our 8-person imaging team, you will perform high-quality diagnostic imaging across a wide range of modalities in our newly renovated facility:

• Diagnostic Radiography: Operate stationary and portable X-ray systems to capture high-quality radiographs for small, large, and exotic animal patients.
• Cross-Sectional Imaging: Perform advanced CT and/or MRI scans, administering contrast agents and assisting with patient positioning under veterinary anesthesia/sedation.
• Specialty Procedures: Perform fluoroscopy exams and mobile X-rays during surgical, interventional, or research procedures.
• Quality & Safety Advocacy: Adjust exposure settings, apply lead shielding, ensure radiation safety, and maintain strict quality control standards.
• Equipment Stewardship: Maintain, disinfect, and troubleshoot advanced imaging systems, partnering with vendors and facility managers to keep equipment operating at peak performance.

Why Choose UW Veterinary Care over Human Healthcare?

• Dream Schedule: Enjoy a predictable workweek. Say goodbye to night shifts, mandatory holiday call, and grueling 12-hour hospital rotations.
• Brand-New, State-of-the-Art Facility: Practice in our newly expanded hospital with top-tier technology, including state-of-the-art Digital Radiography (DR), Fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, Standing CT, Nuclear Medicine, and Mobile Imaging.
• Cross-Training & Growth: New grads welcome! Expand your skill set across multiple modalities (CT/MRI) in a high-tech learning environment backed by board-certified veterinary radiologists.
• Fulfilling & Low-Stress Patients: Experience the joy of helping pets, exotic species, and large animals every single day alongside a kind, supportive, and collaborative team.
