DevOps Engineer

[SKALEET]

Skaleet is a fast-growing B2B fintech specializing in Core Banking Solutions. We help financial institutions in 15+ countries innovate, scale, and deliver superior banking experiences to millions of end-customers.

Our infrastructure is critical: every client runs on its own dedicated platform, meaning 50+ environments to operate in production, each with its own specificities.

[Job Description]

💡Context

You will join the Infra team as a senior technical referent, owning the most complex infrastructure topics for Skaleet's Cloud platforms across all clients.

You'll design high-availability architectures, industrialize operations as code, and spread reliability practices (SLOs, observability, incident management, post-mortems) across the team and the development squads.

You'll also arbitrate architecture decisions on your scope and mentor junior/middle engineers, reducing recurring operational load through automation rather than manual effort.

👉Your future missions

Reliability & Service Level Ownership

• Guarantee availability, capacity, and performance of client platforms; own SLA/SLO commitments.

• Define SLOs with development teams and arbitrate reliability vs. delivery speed on that basis.

Infrastructure as Code

• Industrialize operations with Terraform and Ansible: provisioning, deployments, system updates, platform provisioning.

• Eliminate recurring manual operations across the board.

Kubernetes & VMware → Kubernetes Migration

• Design and implement high-availability architectures.

• Drive the strategic migration from VMware/vSphere (~450 VMs, 5 datacenters) to Kubernetes (3 clusters, ~20 nodes).

Observability & Incident Management

• Improve metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and actionable alerting with measurable noise reduction.

• Act as Incident Commander on major incidents; drive resolution, lead blameless post-mortems and remediation plans.

Level 3 Support

• Serve as the final escalation point for infra issues raised by support, dev, and project teams.

• Surface recurring root causes upstream instead of firefighting case by case.

Security, Compliance & Leadership

• Integrate banking-sector security/compliance requirements into infra choices, in liaison with the CISO.

• Document architectures and runbooks; mentor junior/middle engineers; lead technical reviews.

• Contribute to technical hiring for the team.

⚠️ On-call required. Scheduled interventions outside business hours for client-impacting operations (migrations, cutovers, maintenance).

  [Desired Profile]

✨ You are a great match if :

• Master's degree from a top-tier engineering school, or equivalent experience.

• 6–7 years' experience as SRE, DevOps Engineer, or production infrastructure.

• Strong command of Linux/Debian environments, with significant Docker and Kubernetes production experience.

• Proven infra-as-code practice, particularly Terraform and Ansible.

• On-call and production incident management experience.

• Solid Python or Bash skills.

Nice to Have

• Strong network knowledge (routing, firewalling, VPN).

• VMware vSphere experience and Kubernetes migration experience.

• Experience in a regulated or high-availability-critical sector (banking, payments, healthcare).

• Experience working with distributed teams.

• Professional English.

The Profile That Works Here

• Pragmatic; takes ownership of production and prefers eliminating a recurring problem over working around it.

• Cool-headed in a crisis; leads major incidents, decides under pressure with incomplete information.

• A strong communicator; makes reliability topics understandable to product and project stakeholders.

• A mentor; grows the team's skills rather than hoarding knowledge.

• Comfortable in a complex, multi-tenant environment (50+ unique client platforms).

• Methodical under pressure; you document and get sensitive operations reviewed, you always plan a rollback, and you honor your on-call commitments.

• Continuous-improvement mindset; treats operational load as a problem to solve, not a fatality.
