The Xebia Data Division

Xebia Data is one of Xebia's divisions, renowned for its expertise in building strong Data and AI practices that deliver value to our clients. In the past, our team has predicted daily bread demand for millions of loaves, built advanced energy-saving algorithms at a national scale, and established data innovation labs at large multinational companies!

You’ll work with the sharpest data professionals in Europe, people who are not only technically brilliant but also generous with their knowledge. We enjoy the benefits of being part of a large organization while maintaining the energetic atmosphere of a scale-up. Our commitment to our community is strong; we are deeply rooted in the local landscape.

What You’ll Be Doing To Make Organizations Data-Driven

You will be responsible for implementing foundational data systems and developing cloud infrastructure to store, transform, and process data at scale. Always with security, reliability, and future growth in mind.

You use your communication skills as much as your technical skills. You explain your design choices, align stakeholders, and help client teams make confident and informed decisions about their data landscape. You will be surrounded by experts from diverse fields and learn from different environments and industries. It’s not always easy, but it is always rewarding. You will be working long-term with one of our clients.
When on-site with clients, you may encounter something very difficult to solve. At Xebia we work as a team and we've got your back. Everyone is just a message away and ready to help! We say People First, and we mean it.

What are we looking for

The Data Engineer role is a senior position integral to our teams, so we ask for at least 3 years of relevant work experience. That said, we care more about impact than years. If you have unique achievements, like contributing to open-source projects or founding your own startup, we encourage you to apply, no matter your experience level.

Technical skills matter, but so is the culture we create together. We’re looking for like-minded people who genuinely enjoy taking ownership, sharing knowledge, and contributing in an environment where everyone can feel welcome, included, and supported.

This is your dream job if….

✅ You enjoy working with modern new data (infrastructure) tools such as Airflow, Dagster, Spark, Flink, Fabric, Docker, Terraform, and more!

✅ You understand the importance of cloud (any of AWS, Azure, or GCP) and know your way around, or want to learn.
✅ You like working for different clients and enjoy learning in new environments and meeting new people on a regular basis in various locations.

✅ You enjoy sharing knowledge. We write, speak, and teach because it's part of who we are.

✅ Fluent command of Flemish and English.

This is not your dream job if….

❌ You do not want to become an authority. You are hesitant to take a proactive approach and bring your ideas forward.

❌ You don't like working under pressure to get things done in the best way possible.

❌ You do not like coding, scripting, templating or working with open-source technology

❌ You prefer to work alone and get drained from having to explain why you made certain technical choices.

❌ You want to change clients rapidly.

❌You are not located in Belgium and cannot accommodate the required on-site presence of approximately three days per week.
