This role reports to our Head of Internal Operations
Build robust processes: Design and implement accounting best practices that maintain high business velocity while meeting GAAP standards
Design Systems: Implement an ERP, in partnership with other key stakeholders, and provide leadership in managing the quote-to-cash process
Make Cape Audit-ready: Prepare Cape for, and then lead Cape through, its first PCAOB audit
Own Financial Operations: Own AR, AP, payroll, tax, and state compliance. Prepare and maintain accompanying audit-ready books and regular financial statements
Build a team: Hire and develop an accounting team ready to meet Cape’s next stage of growth

Have successfully led an audit end to end
(Bonus Points) Experience with NetSuite
6+ years of progressive accounting experience. At least 2 years of Big 4 experience. Operational accounting within a fast-paced, high-growth start up
Comfort creating and editing journal entries yourself in QBO, as well as implementing departmental accounting practices across our systems
Meticulous organization skills, with a proven track record managing large projects end to end and owning recurring processes
Strong collaboration skills to work effectively across business partners, customers, and vendors
