Consultant with experience in Commerce ecosystems and technologies wanted to join our Business Services team

The opportunity:

How consumers discover, evaluate and buy products is changing faster than most organisations can respond. AI-powered search, agentic commerce, generative product discovery and the collapse of the traditional funnel are reshaping commercial models across every sector. Most enterprise clients know something has shifted few have a clear plan for what to do about it.

WPP Enterprise Solutions is building a commerce consulting practice to help clients navigate these shifts. We work with some of the world's most recognised brands translating complex commercial challenges into actionable strategies, transformation roadmaps and delivery programmes. What makes this role different from a boutique or a SaaS provider is what sits around you: your consulting recommendations connect directly to creative, content, CX and commerce execution teams who bring them to life. Strategy doesn't end at a slide deck here.

We're looking for a Consultant who can work end-to-end from running assessments and diagnostics through to building the roadmaps, change plans and implementation frameworks that follow. You'll be part of an established team working across some of the UK's most recognised brands, with the opportunity to shape how we take new propositions to market.

Project Delivery:

Own end-to-end project delivery: from running client assessments and diagnostics through to identifying the highest-impact opportunities and building prioritised roadmaps clients can execute against.
Develop strategic recommendations across commerce transformation, AI discoverability (GEO/AEO), agentic commerce readiness, content strategy and channel optimisation depending on the client's challenge.
Build and refine repeatable delivery methodologies from discovery through to implementation planning and performance measurement.

Client Engagement:

Support and contribute to workshops, co-creation sessions and client meetings.Owning preparation, follow-up actions and specific content delivery within these sessions.

Collaboration & Practice Building:

Collaborate with specialist teams to ensure seamless handover and continuity across project phases.
Work across WPP's integrated network connecting upstream consulting recommendations to downstream execution in content, CX and commerce.
Contribute to practice IP: case studies, frameworks, proposition development and client-ready assets that strengthen our market position.
Support proposal development and pitch responses helping shape how we present our capabilities and solutions to prospective clients.

What we want from you:

Multiple years of professional experience in a consulting, strategy or senior operational role with significant commerce or digital marketing exposure.
Genuine understanding of how commerce ecosystems work - not just the technology layer, but the commercial reality: trading, content operations, channel strategy, category management and the relationship between brand investment and commercial performance.
Consulting rigour you can structure ambiguous problems, build clear deliverables under time pressure and present recommendations that hold up to client scrutiny.

Working knowledge of AI discoverability GEO, AEO, LLM-influenced search journeys, AI assistants (Gemini, ChatGPT, Rufus), and how they are reshaping product discovery (You don't need to be an engineer you need to understand the strategic implications and be able to advise clients on what to do about them)
Strong communication skills - comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders and translating technical findings into business language.
Experience working with enterprise clients, you understand the complexity of large organisations (multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, long decision cycles) and know how to navigate them.

Familiarity with content optimisation, SEO, or digital shelf management and how these disciplines are being disrupted by generative AI.

Hands-on curiosity with AI tools LLMs, agentic platforms, or similar.
