Consultant (Commerce)

Consultant with experience in Commerce ecosystems and technologies wanted to join our Business Services team

The opportunity:

How consumers discover, evaluate and buy products is changing faster than most organisations can respond. AI-powered search, agentic commerce, generative product discovery and the collapse of the traditional funnel are reshaping commercial models across every sector. WPP Enterprise Solutions is building a commerce consulting practice to help clients navigate these shifts. Strategy doesn't end at a slide deck here.

We're looking for a Consultant who can work end-to-end  from running assessments and diagnostics through to building the roadmaps, change plans and implementation frameworks that follow. What we want from you:

• Multiple years of professional experience in a consulting, strategy or senior operational role with significant commerce or digital marketing exposure.
• Genuine understanding of how commerce ecosystems work - not just the technology layer, but the commercial reality: trading, content operations, channel strategy, category management and the relationship between brand investment and commercial performance.
• Consulting rigour  you can structure ambiguous problems, build clear deliverables under time pressure and present recommendations that hold up to client scrutiny.

• Working knowledge of AI discoverability GEO, AEO, LLM-influenced search journeys, AI assistants (Gemini, ChatGPT, Rufus), and how they are reshaping product discovery (You don't need to be an engineer you need to understand the strategic implications and be able to advise clients on what to do about them)

• Experience working with enterprise clients, you understand the complexity of large organisations (multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, long decision cycles) and know how to navigate them.

Ideally you will have:

• Familiarity with content optimisation, SEO, or digital shelf management and how these disciplines are being disrupted by generative AI.

• The chance to shape a growing consulting practice your work will define methodology and propositions, not just execute someone else's.
• Direct access to iconic enterprise clients and the opportunity to contribute to both proposition development and project delivery.
• An integrated agency network where your consulting work connects to creative, content, CX and commerce teams who make the recommendations real.
• A team culture that values intellectual honesty, pace and ownership.
