Cellar Door Host

Join the newly awarded Michelin star team at Amisfield, an enchanting world where vineyard and restaurant unite in taste and terrior. Nestled amidst the breath-taking landscapes of Central Otago, New Zealand, Amisfield is not just a place – it's an experience. As pioneers in sustainable winemaking, our commitment to organic practices and preserving the land runs deep in every vine and dish we craft. Our focus is on embodying the flavours of Central Otago in an innovative and modern way.

Embark on an adventure of the senses with us as we uncork the spirit of Amisfield, one sip and bite at a time.

About the Role

We’re looking for a passionate, engaging Cellar Door Host to join our dynamic team.

This is a hands-on, guest-facing role where you’ll bring our wines to life — guiding visitors through tastings, sharing our story, and turning every guest into an Amisfield ambassador.

You’ll receive wine and sales training, and work with the rest of the team to achieve cellar door targets. You’ll also gain insight into our winemaking, viticulture, and restaurant operations — an incredible opportunity to grow your knowledge and career in the wine industry.

About Amisfield

We are a Central Otago icon — a 92-hectare, single-vineyard estate producing world-class Pinot Noir and aromatic whites with remarkable characteristics. And we’re proud to be recognised as:

• Michelin Star — awarded to our restaurant
• Riedel Vineyard of the Year – Aotearoa Organic Wine Awards 2024
• Sustainable Vineyard of the Year – NZ Organic Wine Awards 2023
• Winery of the Year in both 2022 and 2020

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and host guests, delivering exceptional and engaging wine tasting experiences.
• Lead the Amisfield Cellar Door Experience, Masterclasses and Private Bespoke Tastings.
• Share your passion and knowledge of Amisfield wines, our story and Central Otago with customers.
• Drive wine sales, grow Wine Club membership and build strong, lasting customer relationships.
• Manage bookings, customer enquiries and follow-up communications to create a seamless guest experience.
• Support direct-to-consumer wine sales, including order processing, customer follow-up and dispatch.
• Maintain a beautifully presented Cellar Door while overseeing stock, daily sales and operational requirements.
• Represent Amisfield at selected off-site tastings, hospitality events and industry functions, while supporting wine knowledge across the wider team.

• Enjoys engaging with people from all over the world and creating memorable experiences.
• Is confident and compelling when it comes to selling our wine.

• Is a proactive and positive team player with strong communication and organisational skills.
• Passionate about and committed to the hospitality industry.
• (Bonus!) Have a WSET qualification, Duty Manager’s Certificate, or CRM experience.

What We Offer

• The opportunity to work within one of New Zealand's leading restaurant and wine businesses.
• A professional and supportive environment with a strong focus on quality and development.

• Successful candidates will be offered competitive remuneration + the opportunity to earn commission, great working hours and the opportunity to progress in their career. The role is full-time permanent, with a minimum of 30 hours guaranteed per week, with flexibility to work rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
