Business Intelligence Manager | Remote (Germany or Switzerland) | Full-time

You want to build a group's entire data and BI capability from the ground up – including the team, the platform, and the strategy – not inherit someone else's roadmap? Then take ownership of data strategy, platform, and team at an international niche world leader in Omega-3 technology.

Salary: €85,000 – 100,000 / year, depending on experience | Permanent | Immediate start | Remote within Germany or Switzerland (proximity to our Bexbach site is a plus)

Why join us?

• 🎯 Build from zero: design the group's data capability, platform, and team – not maintain someone else's legacy
• 📊 Direct influence on how leaders across sites, countries, and functions see and trust performance data
• 🤝 Close partnership with the ERP programme, so data is designed in from the start, not retrofitted
• 🌍 Remote-first role across Europe, with occasional touchpoints at our Bexbach site

About us – in brief

Headquartered in Bexbach, KD Pharma Group is a mid-sized, internationally active company and one of the world's few manufacturers of Omega-3 concentrates with a purity of up to 99.5% – built on a sole focus on Omega-3 fatty acid research and technology development. As the group brings together businesses that each joined with their own systems and ways of working, this role sits at the center of that standardisation effort.

• Data strategy and roadmap: set a practical, prioritised roadmap for data and BI, aligned to business priorities and the wider technology transformation, including the ERP programme
• Data capability: define the data and BI service the group needs — people, partners, and processes; decide what to deliver in-house, where to hire, and where to buy specialist support; build and lead the team
• Data platform: design a central data warehouse on the Microsoft data stack and lead its delivery, choosing an architecture that fits our scale and budget while keeping running costs visible and under control
• Data quality and master data: establish standards, ownership, and governance for key master data (customers, suppliers, products); work with business owners to measure and improve data quality at source
• ERP partnership: work alongside the ERP team so data migration, integration, and reporting are designed in from the start
• Reporting and insight: take ownership of existing Power BI reports, stabilise and rationalise them, and deliver a consistent set of group KPIs across finance, operations, supply chain, quality, and commercial teams
• Enablement: run Power BI as a governed self-service model — workspaces, security, licences, certified datasets, and deployment pipelines; build a community of report authors across sites and track adoption

Must-have

• A track record of building BI capability, including designing and delivering a dimensional data warehouse
• Experience leading and developing a team
• Experience shaping a data or BI function, including in-house vs. partner sourcing decisions
• Strong technical grounding in the Microsoft data stack (SQL, Azure Data Factory or similar, Power BI, DAX, and Power Query), hands-on enough to set standards and judge the quality of others' work
• Practical experience of master data management, working with business owners to fix data quality at source
• The judgement to make considered platform decisions and explain them to non-technical leaders
• Confidence working with stakeholders across functions, sites, and countries

Nice-to-have

• Experience working with ERP data, ideally through an ERP implementation or migration

• Reporting on manufacturing and supply chain operations (production, inventory, yield)

• Experience rolling out self-service reporting and building data literacy across a business

• Data governance and cataloguing tools, such as Microsoft Purview

• Sound development practice, including version control, deployment pipelines, and code review

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric

• Regulated manufacturing experience, ideally pharmaceutical, including GxP data integrity

• Experience managing third-party suppliers or outsourced delivery

• Microsoft data certifications, such as PL-300 or DP-600

• Remote-first within Germany or Switzerland

• The opportunity to build and shape a function from the ground up, with real authority over resourcing decisions

• Individual career and development opportunities in an internationally operating company

• Competitive compensation with Christmas and vacation bonuses

• Company pension scheme

• Free water and coffee

• Company products at employee prices

• Regular team events
