The Business Intelligence Manager owns Resolver’s internal business data: the data in Snowflake, the pipelines that feed it, and the reporting build on top. Much of the job is working out what’s worth measuring
The manager helps work out definitions and sources with teams across Resolver, and finds the data that helps people decide quickly and well. On the infrastructure side, the work is building for scale and security while cutting the effort it takes to get from a question to an answer
Finding ways to put AI to work is part of the job. That starts with the team’s own output and extends to spotting where it opens up work we couldn’t take on before. The manager will take on a leadership role, including coaching direct reports and fostering a data-centric culture in the company at large
Measures of Success: High level of data and report accessibility with minimum time/effort to extract insights from data
Project management: own the path from dashboard request to delivery, including intake, scoping, sequencing and follow-through
Work with leaders across Resolver to understand department needs and what data best serves their goals
Advise on best practices for designing and measuring key metrics, with a strong emphasis on what can delivery actionable insights
Design, build and optimize all parts of the data warehouse infrastructure to support analysis of key data (requirements gathering, ETL, data modelling, metric design, etc.)
Detect data quality issues and their root causes proactively. Implement fixes and design data audits to capture the issues in the future
Explore new data sources that can provide useful insights and inform company-wide strategy
Evaluate new tools and processes that can advance our data capabilities while maintaining high level of security. Put AI to work where it actually changes what the team can take on
Create and maintain documentation that is accurate, organized and understandable to the intended audience (bonus points if someone outside the data team can read it and actually learn something)
Measures of Success: High level of stakeholder satisfaction
With our team, develop, test and launch high quality dashboards to enable growth across Resolver
Administer Tableau Cloud, maintain existing dashboards to ensure a high standard
Develop and maintain AI-powered reporting solutions (Snowflake Cortex Analyst)
Serve as reporting resource for all Resolver divisions, including deep-dive analyses that require wrangling complex data and problems
Proactively identify trends and business insights that improve results against core corporate KPIs: APR, win-rate, back-to-back revenue
Generate hypotheses on cross-functional data and run experiments to test efficacy
Measures of Success: Best in class team engagement scores. Clear development of career plans for team members. Both senior and junior stakeholders show sophisticated understanding of data
Maximize team’s impact by providing oversight, support and guidance
Coordinate use of resources, resolve bottlenecks, review of projects and potential risks
Mentor and coach the team to achieve OKRs and personal performance objectives. Work closely with team members to create personalized development plans that allow for in-role growth and long-term opportunities
Beyond the direct business intelligence team, serve as an ambassador for the department
Regularly report to the executive team on the business impact of the BI infrastructure and BI-related project
Educate departments on new data technology and methods. Create the building blocks for a data-centric cutlure
Act as a senior member of the marketing team to define and build team culture and contribute to discussions on improving team engagement and growth
