Why Numeric

Every business runs on accounting, but the systems underneath it were built for a different era. Today’s ERPs don’t store a company’s financial data. They store a diluted copy of it. Every contract, lease, and invoice gets flattened into a journal entry, and the context that made it meaningful is thrown away. That’s why accounting teams spend every month re-checking numbers, stitching together spreadsheets, and waiting on engineering, and why AI struggles to do real accounting work. Accounting doesn’t have a reporting problem. It has a data problem.

Enter Numeric: the data platform finance teams run on. We started with the month-end close, where the data problem hurts most, and hundreds of finance teams now run their close on Numeric. That work led us to rebuild the system of record itself. In September 2026 we launched the Financial Data Platform (FDP), a platform built for the agent era. Instead of a journal entry, the real business object enters the system and the accounting is derived from it. Every number is traceable to its source, reporting works on any dimension, and accountants and AI agents finally have enough context to work together. While others bolted AI features onto the old data model, we built a new one.

We have a growing base of customers who love our product, including Anthropic, Plaid, Brex, Betterment, Wealthfront, and Asana. We’ve raised $89M from top-tier investors including IVP, Menlo Ventures, Founders Fund, and 8VC, along with founders and executives from Ramp, Segment, and other category-defining companies. We’re hybrid but in-office first, with teams in New York, San Francisco, and London, and we just shipped the product that will define our next decade. There’s never been a better time to join.

About the Role

We’re growing fast and seeking a creative, driven BDR to join our sales team and accelerate outreach.

As a member of our BDR team, you’ll determine the right ways to open doors for our sales team to have strong conversations with potential clients and directly influence the growth trajectory of our company. In this role:

• You’ll learn to quickly capture attention on the fly, both by mastering cold calling or through hyper-personalized email and LinkedIn messages.

• You’ll manage creative campaigns for accounts that could be a good fit for Numeric — thinking about the right message to send, how to reach out, and how to experiment to get better over time.

• You’ll advance to owning customer conversations for anyone interested in our free product and a sub-set of demos, honing your ability to communicate about our product and navigate sales conversations.

• You’ll keep potential clients interested in Numeric when the timing isn’t yet right, nurturing and building relationships with them with invites to events and sending along updates.

• You’ll work closely with all of the go-to-market team, getting first-hand insight into the marketing, growth, sales, and partnerships teams.

• You'll own a 10% project — an initiative outside of your core job that helps propel the company forward and helps build the skills you need for future roles (examples in the past have included tackling recruitment marketing projects, partnering with someone on the team to advance our SEO efforts, or working with AE to build out persona documentation used by the whole company).

Over time, you’ll have the opportunity to grow into a full cycle sales role, propel marketing efforts, or chart your own career path at Numeric. We’re growing fast and are excited for our BDR team to be a launching pad for careers across the company.

About You

You’re a recent grad (0-3 years of experience) interested in joining a high-growth start-up (and directly contributing to that growth!). You have a hypothesis that sales or marketing could be strong fits for your skill set & are excited to dive straight in.

• You’re driven. You love a challenge and set ambitious goals for yourself. You have a track record of being disciplined, organized, and getting things done.

• You’re personable. You’re a natural communicator. You easily connect with new people and often strike up conversations with strangers.

• You’re a builder. You get excited about the idea of starting from the ground-up and building a strong foundation for years to come. You’re happiest charting a path & figuring things out for the first time.

How we work at Numeric

🔍 We believe that small, focused teams can have huge impacts. This means that our team is ready to tackle projects across the company when needed and we devote enough focus time to stay productive.

🏢 We are hybrid but in-office first. We believe that when things are moving quickly, time together in the office is key to providing everyone with context, adapting, and, well, it’s more fun this way 😊

🐎 We move fast and believe that often the best way to learn is by doing.

💜 We deeply care about this company. We care about the product we’re building, our customer base, and each other.

🧾 We’re genuinely excited the world of accounting (even though most of us were brand new to it before we joined). While you may not share the same love on Day 1, we look for people excited about the prospect of re-shaping an industry and diving deep to learn about our customers.

😄 And, important to note, we take business building seriously. But we aim to never take ourselves too seriously & laugh a lot.
