As a Business Development Representative at Prophix, you own the first conversation: finding the right prospects, getting in front of them by phone, email, and LinkedIn, and turning cold outreach into qualified meetings for our sales team. You'll run the full motion end to end, researching accounts, personalizing outreach, qualifying against our ideal customer profile, and handing off clean, well-qualified opportunities, all while partnering closely with Marketing and Revenue Operations to keep your outreach aligned with what's already in flight. This is where a sales career in B2B SaaS actually starts: high-volume, metrics-driven, and built to turn into something bigger once you've proven you can do it. This is a hybrid role reporting into our Etobicoke, ON office a minimum of 3x/week.

What You Will Do

Prospect and Qualify

· Conduct high-volume outbound prospecting via phone, email, and LinkedIn to engage key decision-makers within mid-market and enterprise target accounts

· Research and analyze prospect accounts to craft personalized, insight-driven outreach that resonates with each buyer's unique context and challenges

· Qualify potential customers against Prophix's ideal customer profile and secure high-quality meetings for the sales team

Partner Across the Business

· Partner with Marketing to align outbound activity with active demand generation campaigns and ensure consistent messaging across channels

· Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all prospect interactions and pipeline progression within Salesforce CRM

Grow Your Craft

· Analyze your own prospecting performance metrics and continuously refine tactics to improve conversion rates and meeting quality

· Participate actively in sales training and coaching programs, applying new skills and methodologies to strengthen outreach effectiveness

· Stay current on Prophix's product capabilities, industry trends, and the competitive landscape to position our solutions with confidence and credibility

Requirements

What You Will Bring

We hire for potential as much as experience. If this role excites you but you don’t check every box, we still want to hear from you. At Prophix, people who ask good questions, adapt quickly, and bring a fresh perspective often make the biggest impact.

Required Qualifications

·  1–3 years of experience in a B2B sales development, business development, or related role, ideally within a SaaS environment

· Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

·  Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling outreach messages and hold engaging, consultative conversations

· Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed performance targets in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment

· Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce and sales engagement tools such as Outreach or Highspot

· Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a resilient, positive attitude and genuine eagerness to grow

· Strong research and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of outreach activity

·  Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

· Comfortable using AI tools to support day-to-day work (research, drafting, prospecting, and data review), and quick to adapt as tools and workflows evolve

· Naturally curious and collaborative, with a habit of looking for a better way to do things

Preferred Qualifications

·  Experience in the financial performance management or FP&A software space

·  Familiarity with sales methodologies such as MEDDIC, SPIN, or Challenger

·  Hands-on experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar prospecting platforms

·  Demonstrated competitive drive and a track record of achievement through academics, athletics, extracurricular activities, professional experience, or personal pursuits.
