Business Development Manager - Midlands

Hello. We’re Teya.

Teya was founded on a simple belief: local businesses deserve better.

They are the cafés, restaurants, salons, shops and entrepreneurs that bring character to our high streets, create jobs and keep communities moving. Yet for too long, financial services has made life harder for them - with clunky tools, poor support and complexity that gets in the way of running a business.

Teya exists to change that.

We’re building a financial platform for local businesses across Europe - one built around simple tools, thoughtful design and real human support. Our Members rely on us to help them run their business with confidence, and that responsibility shapes the way we work.

We move fast. We care about quality. We stay close to the detail. And we believe great performance and genuine hospitality should go hand in hand.

If you want to build meaningful products, solve real problems and make a genuine difference for local businesses, we’d love to hear from you

Your Mission

We're looking for a field-based sales professional to join Teya's rapidly growing sales organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to build a career in sales, develop real commercial skills, and grow within a high-performing, fast-scaling business.

You don't need a sales track record to succeed in this role. What you need is hunger, coachability, and something to prove. We invest heavily in structured onboarding and hands-on coaching because we're not hiring you for who you've been — we're hiring you for who you're going to become.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Proactively identify and engage prospective customers within your defined territory through outreach, networking, referrals and face to face meetings

• Meet business owners to understand their needs, challenges and goals, and recommend relevant Teya products and solutions.

• Learn and apply Teya's value-led sales methodology to win new business and achieve performance targets

• Develop positive, long-term customer relationships that support market penetration, growth and retention.

• Develop strong knowledge across Teya's products and solutions through our structured training programme

• Share insights from the field to help improve our products and customer experience

• Represent Teya as a credible, professional and values-led ambassador within your territory

• Build positive, long-term customer relationships that support growth and retention

Your Story

This role is about more than just sales — it's a launchpad. It's an opportunity to build genuine commercial confidence, develop transferable sales skills, and create meaningful relationships with business owners from day one.

We're not looking for a finished product. We're looking for potential, drive, and the right mindset — the rest we'll teach you.

We're looking for people who bring:

• A competitive mindset and a genuine desire to win

• Strong work ethic and high activity orientation — you show up and put the reps in

• Coachability — you take feedback, apply it, and improve fast

• Curiosity and learning agility

• Ambition and resilience — you treat setbacks as information, not defeat

• Emotional intelligence and the ability to read a room or a customer

• Self-direction and a proactive, self-driven mindset

• Confidence engaging with new people and building rapport quickly

• Effective time management and organisational skills

• A collaborative, team-oriented approach

• A strong willingness to learn and continuously develop

• Fluency in English

• A full UK driving licence

This is a fully field-based sales role. You must be located in the Midlands.

The Perks

• Competitive basic salary plus commission, with typical on-target earnings of £60,000 - £80,000 in your first year - depending on your skills and experience

• 25 days of Annual Leave + Bank Holidays

• Physical and mental health support through our partnership with GymPass, 1-1 therapy sessions, meditation sessions, and access to digital fitness and nutrition apps

• Extended and improved maternity and paternity leave choices
