Business Development Manager - Food, Packaging and Plastics Industries

About Us

Since 1942, Eriez has been more than a company, it’s a catalyst for innovation. Our journey began in the heart of Erie, Pennsylvania, but our impact reverberates across six continents, with our office in Epping, Victoria. It’s not just the cutting-edge tech; it’s the Eriez spirit. Here’s why we are not your average separation technology powerhouse:

• Magnetic Magic: Our magnetic separation tech isn’t just science; it’s sorcery. We make metals dance, particles align, and impurities vanish
• Metal Detectives: Forget Sherlock Holmes; meet our metal detectives. They sniff out hidden treasures in conveyor belts, recycling streams, and mining pits. CSI: Scrapyard Edition
• Material Maestros: Handling materials isn’t a chore; it’s an art form

About the Role

We are looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager – Food, Packaging and Plastics Industries with experience in food processing, packaging or equipment sales to help grow our Light Industry business.

What matters is that you understand equipment, understand the food and packaging environment, and know how to sell.

You will work directly with food and beverage manufacturers, processors and packaging operations to identify opportunities, develop solutions and build long-term customer relationships.

Beyond direct sales, you will also identify and develop resellers, OEM’s distributors and agents who can extend our reach and create new sales channels.

You will:

• Develop new business across food and beverage processing, packaging, and plastics industries
• Identify opportunities within customer operations and convert them into equipment sales
• Build a strong pipeline while developing and growing key customer accounts
• Develop relationships with food manufacturers, processors, packers and other end users
• Identify, appoint and grow resellers, distributors and channel partners
• Grow regional market coverage and identify new applications for the broader Eriez product portfolio

Requirements

About You

We are looking for someone who combines technical credibility with genuine sales drive.

Ideally, you will have:

• Proven sales, business development or account management experience within food processing, food & beverage packaging, automation or equipment
• Experience selling packaging machinery, processing equipment, automation, or related industrial equipment
• An established network and relationships within food, beverage, packaging or processing markets
• The ability to understand a customer's production process, identify problems and uncover equipment opportunities
• A proven ability to develop new business while managing and growing existing accounts
• The commercial capability to identify and develop resellers, distributors and new sales channels

If you are a commercially driven strategist who understands distribution, vertical growth, and how to scale sales nationally, we want to hear from you.

What Will Make You Stand Out

You are someone who can walk into a food processing or packaging facility and quickly understand how the operation works, where the challenges are and where an equipment solution could add value.

You don't wait for enquiries to arrive. You build relationships, ask the right questions, uncover opportunities and follow them through.

You may already have relationships with food and beverage manufacturers, packaging companies, integrators, distributors or processing operations and you are excited by the opportunity to use that experience to build something bigger.

TO APPLY

We are interested in what you have actually sold, who you've sold to and how you've grown business. Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter telling us:

• What food processing, packaging, automation or equipment products you've sold
• The food, beverage and packaging markets you know best
• The customer and industry networks you could bring to the role
• Your experience developing distributors, resellers or other sales channels

If you know the food and packaging market, understand equipment and have the drive to turn opportunities into sales, we would like to hear from you.

AI generated cover letters would be disregarded.

Only applicants with demonstrated Australian industrial sales experience and a proven track record in channel development will be considered.
