About the Role
EMPIST is seeking a Business Development Executive to join our growing sales team. This role is ideal for a consultative, relationship-driven technology sales professional who excels at uncovering business challenges, building executive relationships, and positioning strategic solutions that deliver measurable outcomes.
The Business Development Executive will focus on acquiring new clients and expanding EMPIST’s presence across Managed IT Services, Cybersecurity, Cloud, Compliance, Infrastructure, and AI-enabled technology solutions. The ideal candidate is driven, professional, business-focused, and passionate about helping organizations use technology to improve operations, reduce risk, and support long-term growth.
What You’ll Be Doing:
New Business Development
- Develop and execute territory and account strategies focused on generating net-new business.
- Build and maintain relationships with business owners, executives, IT leaders, and other key decision-makers.
- Generate qualified pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals, strategic outreach, industry events, and partner relationships.
- Represent EMPIST professionally within the local business community and target markets.
- Stay informed about market conditions, emerging technologies, cybersecurity trends, AI developments, compliance requirements, and evolving client needs.
Consultative Selling
- Conduct discovery conversations to understand each prospect’s business goals, operational challenges, technology environment, security risks, and future priorities.
- Translate technical concepts into clear, business-focused recommendations.
- Position EMPIST as a strategic technology partner rather than a transactional product or service provider.
- Recommend solutions across Managed IT Services, Cybersecurity, Cloud, Compliance, Infrastructure, and AI-enabled platforms.
- Clearly communicate how EMPIST’s solutions can improve efficiency, strengthen cybersecurity, increase scalability, reduce risk, and support business growth.
Sales Process & Execution
- Manage the full sales lifecycle, including qualification, discovery, presentations, solution development, proposals, negotiations, forecasting, and closing.
- Deliver compelling business and technology presentations tailored to executive and technical audiences.
- Collaborate with SDRs, Marketing, Solutions Architects, vCIOs, Client Strategy, and other internal teams to develop the right solution for each prospect.
- Coordinate internal resources and maintain momentum throughout the sales process.
- Maintain accurate opportunity records, activity tracking, next steps, and forecasts in HubSpot CRM.
- Consistently work toward and achieve new-business and revenue objectives.
What We’re Looking For:
You are a consultative technology seller who enjoys opening doors, understanding how organizations operate, and helping decision-makers solve complex business challenges. You build credibility by asking thoughtful questions, connecting technology recommendations to business outcomes, and following through on your commitments. You are confident engaging with executives and comfortable working alongside technical specialists to develop the right solution. You bring strong business judgment, professional communication skills, and the discipline to manage a consistent pipeline in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of experience in business development, technology consulting, Managed Services, Cybersecurity, AI, SaaS, or related technology sales.
- Proven success generating new business and consistently achieving or exceeding revenue goals.
- Understanding of Managed IT Services, Cloud Solutions, Cybersecurity, AI, Infrastructure, and modern business technology environments.
- Experience selling recurring-revenue, managed-services, or other consultative technology solutions preferred.
- Strong discovery, communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear, practical, and business-focused manner.
- Professional executive presence with the ability to engage business owners, C-level executives, and IT decision-makers.
- Strong organization, pipeline-management, prioritization, and follow-through skills.
- Experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, technical, marketing, and client-success teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Willingness to travel locally for client meetings, networking events, and business-development activities.
Why Join EMPIST?
- Own the strategy and execution for generating net-new business in a growing technology organization.
- Sell strategic, recurring-revenue solutions across Managed IT, Cybersecurity, Cloud, Compliance, Infrastructure, and AI.
- Build executive relationships while partnering with technical experts to develop solutions aligned with client goals.
- Grow your career with leadership-development opportunities at an established, nationally recognized MSP.
