Why we're hiring:

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive  Data Analyst to be a critical hands-on contributor to our client reporting and analytics initiatives within WPP Open. Reporting directly to the Data Analytics Lead, you will be responsible for translating complex business questions into robust analytical solutions, going beyond descriptive reporting to identify patterns, drive predictive insights, and deliver actionable intelligence to our client teams.

This role is for an expert practitioner who thrives on diving deep into data, possesses exceptional SQL skills, and has a proven track record of delivering impactful analytical products. You will play a key role in executing the data strategy defined by the Lead, ensuring data accuracy, and championing innovative analytical approaches.

What you'll be doing:

Advanced Data Analysis & Insight Generation:

Perform complex, hands-on data analysis to identify key trends, patterns, and anomalies in client usage data from the WPP Open platform.
Go beyond standard reporting by conducting in-depth investigations, root cause analysis, and contributing to predictive insights to proactively identify opportunities and risks.
Develop and implement analytical models and methodologies to extract meaningful insights from large, diverse datasets.
Utilize very strong SQL skills to query, transform, and analyze data efficiently from various data warehouses, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.

Reporting & Dashboarding Delivery:

Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, actionable dashboards and reports using various BI tools, serving as a primary delivery expert for monthly and ad-hoc client reporting.
Ensure all reporting is accurate, consistent, and provides clear, concise narratives that drive understanding and action.
Continuously optimize existing reports and build new ones based on evolving client needs and strategic direction from the Lead.

Technical Execution & Collaboration:

Work closely with the Lead to understand strategic objectives and translate them into concrete analytical and reporting deliverables.
Collaborate effectively with Data Engineers and Architects to ensure data availability, quality, and the implementation of efficient data pipelines.
Provide technical expertise and contribute to the definition of data models and analytical frameworks.

Stakeholder Communication & Problem Solving:

Clearly communicate complex analytical findings, methodologies, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proactively identify data-related challenges and propose innovative solutions to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and analytical capabilities.
Act as a subject matter expert for client usage data on WPP Open.

What you'll need:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Information Systems, or a closely related quantitative field.

Experience:

5+ years of overall industry experience of dedicated, hands-on experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or reporting roles.
Proven experience in delivering complex analytical projects from data extraction to insight presentation.
Direct experience with product analytics platforms such as Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel, Pendo, Amplitude etc. is must

Technical Skills:

Very strong expertise in SQL (advanced queries, performance tuning, data modeling, stored procedures, etc.) is essential.
Proficiency with large-scale data warehouses/platforms such as Google BigQuery, Databricks, and AWS data services (e.g., Redshift, S3, Glue, Athena).
Advanced proficiency in data visualization and business intelligence tool Power BI for dashboard creation and interactive reporting.
Demonstrated experience with statistical analysis techniques and concepts related to predictive modelling.
Familiarity with data governance, data quality best practices, and ETL/ELT processes.

Analytical & Soft Skills:

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to identify patterns, draw conclusions, and translate data into actionable business insights.
A 'think differently' mindset, proactively seeking out opportunities for deeper analysis and predictive insights rather than just fulfilling report requests.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and quality.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts and analytical findings clearly to diverse audiences.
Self-motivated, able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in a quantitative field.
Experience within an advertising, marketing, or media agency environment.
Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or R for data analysis, statistical modelling, or automation.
Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Certified, AWS Certified, Databricks Certified).
