Why We Are Hiring
CMLS's commercial servicing portfolio is growing, and we're looking for an Analyst who wants to learn credit and underwriting from the ground up. You'll help manage annual reviews and post-funding credit activity, working alongside a team that's collaborative and invested in helping you build those skills.
Where You’ll Make An Impact:
- Complete annual reviews of CMHC-insured loans and CMBS mandates, ensuring each assessment meets CMHC's standards and internal quality expectations.
- Monitor loan covenants and annual financial reporting, proactively assisting in resolving compliance risks, and coordinate critical escalations to relevant internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to clarify information, address discrepancies, and support accurate decision-making.
- Take ownership of assigned loans, continuously develop underwriting expertise, and support the adoption of new tools and technologies, including AI, to enhance team effectiveness.
- Facilitate the collection, preparation, and reporting of annual financial information to investors in adherence to timelines.
- Conduct ad-hoc reporting and handle special projects related to loan compliance and ongoing servicing obligations.
What We Value:
- Post-secondary education in finance, real estate, business administration, or a related field.
- One (1) year of experience in commercial real estate, mortgage underwriting, or mortgage funding.
- A proactive, self-driven approach. You take full accountability for managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring every deadline is met without sacrificing quality.
- A team player who loves sharing knowledge and brainstorming with stakeholders, but possesses the discipline to own your commitments and the ability to deliver results independently.
- You possess a natural instinct for identifying inconsistencies in complex datasets and the persistence to investigate the "why" behind the numbers.
Supporting Your Life at CMLS:
- Health & Wellness: Comprehensive insurance (Drug, Vision, Dental) & Health and Wellness Spending Accounts.
- Mental Support: 24/7 unlimited access to telemedicine, EAP, and mental health services for you and your family.
- Time Off: 4 weeks paid vacation, plus personal/sick days and all statutory holidays.
- Future Planning: RRSP Matching Program to help you build long-term wealth.
- Family Support: Robust Maternity and Parental Leave Top-Up programs.
- Professional Growth: Education reimbursement, mentoring, and continuous training.
