AI & Data Architect - Tieto Tech Consulting

Job Description

Do you want to design the architectural foundations that turn Data & AI ambitions into scalable, enterprise-grade solutions? Then this role is for you.

Tieto Tech Consulting is the leading digital accelerator for innovation and sustainable value creation. We combine business design with software engineering to bring digital business to life.

With a team of around 300 highly qualified employees at our locations in Austria and Germany and a global team of 8,000 colleagues, we are constantly striving to develop and grow. Our customers trust in our solutions, which is why we are continuously looking for new talents.

As an AI & Data Architect, you will design the architectures that AI-enabled workflows run on - from the data foundation to the agentic systems built on top of it. Architecture is where successful implementation is decided long before the first line of code: target architecture, technology choices, and decisions that outlive the current project. You make those decisions hands-on and close to the teams that implement them.

Depending on the customer use case, you will work across cloud data platforms, integration architectures, agentic AI systems, governance and operating models. You help bring today's trends down to earth and turn them into real, lasting business value. As part of a dynamic and fast-growing practice, you will develop with the field itself - at our customers and inside our own organisation.

When joining Tieto Tech Consulting as an AI & Data Architect, you

• Define target architectures and roadmaps across AI & Data platforms that are aligned with our customers' business, IT and security requirements
• Translate between the worlds of engineering, business, IT and operations, making sure everyone ends up with the same picture
• Guide customers in building AI-ready data foundations and governance, from data quality and access control to lineage
• Own architecture decisions and make them traceable through ADRs, documented trade-offs, and the reasoning behind them
• Put our partnerships with Microsoft and Databricks to work, weighing up for each customer which technology decision fits their case
• Support pre-sales through technical discovery, solution design and effort estimation, and stay with the project from concept to implementation

Who we are looking for

• Strong experience designing and implementing modern Data & AI architectures, from the data foundation to the AI services and workflows built on it
• Confidence in customer-facing situations - from technical discovery to explaining a difficult architecture decision to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proven ability to build architectures that evolve, working hands-on and in close collaboration with engineering & operations teams
• You have taken Data & AI solutions into production, not just into pilots - including governance, security, scalability, observability and lifecycle management
• Up-to-date knowledge of platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Foundry or Databricks, gained through hands-on experience
• Professional working proficiency in German and English, enabling you to confidently communicate with customers and project teams

As a person, we believe you are a team player who takes actions and demonstrates responsibility to organize your work and solve your tasks. You take ownership of architectural topics and feel comfortable guiding teams and customers through decision-making processes. You are communicative, collaborative, and able to translate between business and technology. Continuous learning and curiosity for new technologies are part of your mindset. Technology is developing fast, so learning new innovative technologies is something you strive to do.

We offer

• professional growth, meaningful projects, open culture, and an outstanding work-life balance
• access to an extensive international network of industry experts
• opportunity to create the future of a growing, fast-developing, and important sector
• flexible hybrid work model as part of our culture and way of working
• benefits like laptop and smartphone also for private use, health programs, team events, excellent public transport connection, food vouchers, contribution to the costs of the Austrian “KlimaTicket”, fresh fruits, the perfect environment to prosper professionally, and a lot more.
• We believe that our organizational culture is an important part of enabling you to be successful.
• Finally, we also believe in curiosity and learning as a lifestyle where you need to unlearn and relearn every day as new possibilities emerge

The annual gross salary for this position will start from € 80.000,00 on a full-time basis, depending on your qualifications and experience. Our aim is to provide you with a salary package that is both competitive and reflective of your relevant experience, while also aligning with current market standards.
