To support this growing demand across Europe, Montel is expanding its commercial team.

Energy markets are volatile, interconnected and changing quickly. Montel brings together the news, market data, analytics and risk tools customers need to understand what is happening today and prepare for what comes next. You’ll work with traders, analysts, utilities, producers, portfolio managers and other senior energy professionals. These are informed buyers who expect relevant questions, commercial insight and a consultative approach.
You’ll be representing more than a market-leading product portfolio. You’ll be part of a company with a growing voice in Europe’s energy sector – combining trusted journalism, market analysis, podcasts, reports and expert insight that are shaping industry conversations. Working alongside journalists, analysts and market experts, you’ll sell solutions backed by genuine expertise, credibility and trusted relationships – not just marketing claims.
Previous experience in energy or commodities can be valuable, but it isn’t essential. What matters most is your ability to learn a complex market, understand how customers make decisions and translate sophisticated solutions into meaningful commercial value.
These roles suit commercially ambitious people who combine drive with structure. You enjoy creating opportunities, but you also invest time in understanding your customers, building credibility and becoming a trusted adviser.
If you’re excited by complex markets, enjoy learning from your customers and want genuine ownership of a territory, you’ll be at home at Montel.
– Around three to seven years of relevant B2B sales experience.
– Experience owning a full sales cycle, ideally in SaaS, data, analytics or another complex solution.
– Evidence that you can build pipeline rather than rely entirely on inbound demand.
– Strong discovery, value articulation, objection handling, negotiation and closing skills.
– Curiosity, resilience and the ability to work with autonomy.
– Good CRM and forecasting discipline.
– Fluent English and the relevant language skills for your market.
– A willingness to meet customers and represent Montel at industry events.
Montel’s culture is built around transparency, trust and strong relationships. Teams work across countries, but collaboration stays personal. People are given autonomy, supported as they develop and encouraged to share what they are seeing in their market.
Depending on the role, you may work remotely, in a hybrid setup or close to a local office. Regular customer visits, industry events and time with colleagues will keep you connected to both your territory and the wider European business.
Montel has partnered with Nobel Recruitment to manage this European hiring programme. Nobel’s specialist recruiters will help you understand the opportunity, prepare for each stage and stay informed throughout the process. Why join Montel?
Montel is a fast-growing SaaS company and a European leader in energy market intelligence — real-time data, analytics, and risk management tools for producers, traders, utilities, and industrial energy consumers. We are now scaling aggressively across Europe, with strong momentum and fresh resources to invest in key growth markets like Benelux.
The wider commercial team is based remotely too, his is a newly created position designed to give the region dedicated, local commercial ownership.
You'll be joining a company with:
An established base of around 50 clients across the Benelux region
A strong inbound pipeline from webinars, seminars, and industry events ; mixed with your outbound and hunting efforts
A recognisable brand in the energy sector with real credibility already built in the region
A clear mandate to grow
The role
As Account Executive – Benelux, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of existing clients while also driving new business across the region. This is a mix of account management and new logo hunting — you'll need to be equally comfortable nurturing relationships and proactively going after new opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Manage and grow a portfolio of ~50 existing clients across the Benelux region
Convert inbound leads generated through events, webinars, and marketing campaigns
Proactively hunt for new business within the region
Run full sales cycles from qualification to close, typically 1–3 months (sometimes up to 6 months for larger accounts)
Build long-term, consultative relationships — this is not a transactional, high-volume sales role
Travel regularly within the region to meet clients face-to-face (expect roughly one trip per month)
Represent the company at industry events and conferences across the region
About you
3–5 years of experience in a closing sales role (Account Executive / Account Manager), ideally in SaaS with a consultative, technical sales approach
Alternative profile: candidates from an energy trading or commodities background with less formal sales experience are also strongly encouraged to apply — a background in energy trading and commodities is considered an ideal profile for this role
Experience in the energy sector is a strong plus, though not a must have requirement if you’re senior enough in sales
Driven, hungry to learn, and motivated to grow within a scaling organisation
Comfortable working both existing accounts and new business (inbound + outbound)
Dutch is a nice-to-have, not required — most clients operate comfortably in English
Based in the Netherlands
